The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Two things can prevent any sort of problem like that occuring: don't lift weights when you have open cuts (or at least bandage them up), and also when in doubt just throw a towel down on the machine.

Oh no, the nasty staph is going to eat my hands off!!!! This is just a scare tactic. Absolutely nothing new, I mean, weight rooms are probably cleaner now days than they were 30 years ago. At any rate, you'd have to be a moron to touch unbandaged open sores to gym equipment.

    Scare tactic? Devised by BowFlex?

I've had cuts on my hands before. Anything that required an intense grip typically made the bandage fall off. It's hard to keep an open wound covered. I'm not entirely serious, hence the emoticon, I just never knew it could cause death like that. My hands always feel dirty after a workout and the first thing I do when finished is wash my hands.

That helps, but it's not fool-proof. You get a little MRSA on your uncut hand, wipe your nose or eyes....<poof>....you've just been colonized with MRSA.
    I know you're half-crazy, but I wish you'd go all the way.

Pff, I've had troubles with staph for years. Simply just allways on your skin until a wound is caused, then WHAM. Thank the G-man that my immune system has upped its anti.

There are several threads on methicillin resistant staph in general health. As such I'm closing this one. Eitherway...wash your hands and be clean and stuff.

the thought of MRSA on my nose is icky...thanks razorcut. Get a haircut.
