The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Sorry dude but if your an impatient person body building is not for you. Its not fair to yourself and your body to expect a sudden change in only a few weeks. Most people dont like the fact that to look good takes hard work and time. This is why you have so many fat pigs walking around in the world.

In the past month i've gained 10 pounds. I looked in the mirror and aside from a little change i look exactly the same. It takes about 30 pounds lost or gained for you to really notice it.

Also you could just be working out wrong/dieting wrong. Give me some more info and maybe i can help you...Im bored as hell right now lol.

Shortly after you get control of your diet.

If you want to gain muscle you have to gain weight.

If you want to lose fat you have to lose weight.

When you get control of your daily caloric intake you will have control of your physique.

It takes a lot of learning to get to the point where you actually know what you are doing in the gym and in the kitchen.

You are in the right place.

You should post your routine in this thread and post your diet in the Diet & Nutrition forum.

if you are impatient... you're in the wrong sport. It takes dedication, sacrifice, and above all, patience.

To quote the What Seperates Us From Them article, "We know they wanted us to say that building a great body is easy, but it just isn't. This did not take five minutes a day on a TorsoTrack. We did not get this way in 12 short weeks using a Bowflex and the Suzanne Somers' 'Get Skinny' diet. A good body does not cost five easy payments of $39.95."

    Um...

Okay - what kind of results, exactly, are you trying to achieve? And no squats?

And how many calories; how many grams of protein, carb and fat are you consuming? I really don't care how many meals you eat. Just what's in 'em.

Well I always figured if my lifts are going up and I'm gaining some sort of weight then I must be adding some muscle. Granted I don't get anxious within 3 week periods.

    But to answer

Wanting everything NOW RIGHT THIS MINUTE will get you nothing in life. You have to have patience, my friend. That's the only way to be successful with most things in life.

I don't have to ask. I'll tell you. Impatience is not an ingredient of bodybuilding.

I don`t notice change weekly, or even monthly. You grow very very slowly so it`s hard to notice a difference from day to day or week to week.

Pictures help. But one day you`ll probably just catch yourself in the mirror and realize that you`re getting big. The stretch marks and the used-to-be-loose-fitting clothes will be good reminders too, eventually.
