The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Forearm pain from deadlifts

So for the past month or so I've had some forearm soreness that won't seem to go away. I'm wondering if any of you have a had something similar; I think it's being caused by deadlifts.

The pain starts where my forearm and elbow meet and it's specifically on the thick forearm muscle on the top of the forearm. The pain (and stiffness) is most pronounced when I flex do a bicep curl motion and curl my wrist inwards, (as if I were trying to touch my pinky to my shoulder).

I'm not sure if I pulled something, have tendonitis, or what.

    Any thoughts?

Good question. No, it's more like a stiffness that develops afterwards. The pain only presents when I curl my arm up.

I was suffering from that for a while. It hurt the most when I did curls...but it wouldn't so much hurt during the motion as it would BURN LIKE A SON OF A B*TCH when I let the iron rest...be it barbell or dumbell.

If that's what you're going through, trust me, I sympathize.

I was told it was a tendon that was inflamed...and my ortho said to take two weeks off, which I grudgingly did. Oddly enough it hasn't hurt since.

Good to hear Sul Train, I have the exact same problem with curls (pain after resting the bar down). If it persists, I'll try taking some time off as well (hard as it is to keep me away from the gym).

Sounds like the equivalent of shin splints on your forearms. Try some extra stretching and maybe some rest.
