The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Isn't that this Saturday?
Best way to cheat on deadlifts...

Stand there for a few minutes, then pace back and forth a lot, huff and puff, wait until everybody's looking. Approach the bar. Back off. Approach it again. Back off. Get some water. Chalk up. Approach the bar again. Then spray some more chalk around. Wait until people start losing interest. When nobody's looking, pick it a little off the floor, and slam it down. Jump up and yell "LIGHT WEIGHT BABY". Then give high fives all around. - Belial

    Search.

It's one of the most frequently discussed topics on here, and also one of the most common "new thread" offenses. Along with "what music you listen to", "what song goes dum dum dum" and "did anyone see _______ last night"?

Anyone see Rich Franklin on All Access? It showed what he does for a day. Wakes up around 8am -- runs like 20 min at 7 mph. Showed some about his diet, not a lot, just measuring out on a scale. Then showed him working out, He goes like 60 min non-stop. No resting -- full body. He goes to a real hardcore gym, Franklin says members are really only those who are fighters, power lifters or bodybuilders. His trainer says that he has not met anyone who can hang with Rich in the gym or handle his workout. It was pretty sick.

    True.

Well, nothing except NOT having your face beaten in, destroying your joints, or sustaining brain damage.

    Indeed.

Aside from the relatively poor payoff for getting your body wrecked, it's totally WIKKED D00D!!!!

In all seriousness, it's a very cool sport. And like most heavy contact sports, you will be sacrificing your body for it.

Rich Franklin is badass. The gym he trains at is like 10 minutes from my house, and one of my good friends does Judo I think it is, or some mixed-martial arts where he trains at. He's always telling me about his workouts and stuff, kinda neat I guess.

That show was nuts. Did Rich do 4 workouts that day or 3?

To the folks with The Fight Network, they are showing the weigh ins at midnight.

I guess the UFC figures they need TFN afterall.

I'm just getting into UFC and I find that it keeps me motivated to work hard on getting my body in shape. I don't have a favorite fighter yet but I really enjoyed seeing Tank Abbott knock out Matua.

I don't think so... you need state athletic commission approval to fight and if your or the ufc's or the state's doc says you aren't fit to fight.. you ain't fighting. Besides... who gives a crap about Diaz... overated trashmouth... Sanchez kicked his ass.

There is way's around, Diaz is only 23 years old and is only going to get better, dirty Sanchez is the poster boy for UFC so they will do whatever they can to build him up.Its just going to be funny when he gets knocked out cuse then UFC will drop his contract.

Sanchez is 24, 16-0, and already gave your boy an ass whooping.

And just for the record, I don't like either of them.

You are right.. they are building him up by fighting midlevel talent like Diaz...
Didn't Diaz lose to rigs, pariysan, and jackson? Hardly a who's who of champions.

for the record..I don't like sanchez either.. but he knows how to fight.

I agree with the Midget. Diaz has lost his last two fights, and if he doesn't start improving and beating people, Dana White is gonna kick his ass out. After that stunt he pulled at the hospital following his fight with Diesel Riggs, I hope he gets raped the next time he fights. As much as I am into following fighters with a JJ background, I can't stand him, and hope he gets destroyed everytime he steps on the mat.

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

From what I hear there are two sides to the hospital story. Diaz was saying Riggs was getting in his face taunting him and he felt his personal space had been violated and that he did swing first and knock him out b/c he's not a pu$$y. Riggs says that Diaz was flapping his gums the whole time in the hospital and he yelled something at him forget what, something about knocking Diaz out or something. So I think both are to blame, even though Diaz is known to have a screw loose. Also I guess in the casino they were walking down the hallway and Diaz and Riggs paths crossed and Diaz asked if Riggs was going to make weight b/c he had to drop so much. THat pissed Riggs off and he started talking sh*t in the casino, so that added to the hatred between the two.

Personally, I like Diaz as a fighter, I think he had a concrete chin and good overall skills. Unfortunately, he is a young punk and can't seem to keep his mouth shut. After he lost to Sanchez he looked like an idiot saying he still didn't respect Sanchez.
