The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Ok, since I'm entirely ignorant - is it possible for a female to get that big without a little anabolic assistance? Wow, those are some manly forearms...
It turns out the answer to every question is still deadlift and eat.

no. becca swanson uses steroids, but that doesnt take away from how amazing she is.

so andy bolton blew the old world record up and deadlifted 970lbs huh. that is just rediculous.

Actually, Becca has benched over 500lbs and deadlifted over 600. She is also the first and only woman to ever hit over a 2,000 total (2,050).

Yep. It's called "Big Iron Gym" or something like that. I've seen pics and it looks pretty nice.

Some of you guys are being tremendous a-holes. Becca Swanson is amazing. She's a nice person too. I went to a meet she ran and she did everything she could to make sure the lifters were having the best meet possible.
A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

Im not saying she's a horrible person because of it. its just something that makes me cringe a little.
I'm not a moderator, so I guess it doesn't really matter what my opinion is, but this is a POWERLIFTING forum, not general chat...

IMHO, whether someone is "hot or not" really has little to do with anything. I don't see a lot of posts about guy powerlifters that shift in that direction... When's the last time you heard someone say "Scot Mendelson is a strong SOB, but he's not my type."? You don't.

and dont say (then why did u look at the photos then)
    my two cents.
??? I didn't check any of the links in the thread, so I really don't get your point. I was just hoping to hear some tidbits that people who attended might be able to give us.

I would venture to say that Becca has a higher total than anyone on this forum (except Phil Harrington). Have some respect for another person's hard work.
