The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    HERBAL REMEDIES
Valerian depresses the central nervous system and is a good remedy for anxiety and insomnia. Passion flower is another herb recommended for the treatment of insomnia and other disruptive sleep disorders.
Chamomile, taken as a tea before bedtime, has a very calming effect. It also soothes an irritated digestive system, which is often an aid to a better sleep. Kava kava is a mild sedative and can be used in the treatment of anxiety disorders and to promote better sleep

Do you work out at night time? If so, try working out in the morning/early afternoon. Exercising tends to wake me up.

don't take any naps at all during the day! That really helps me when i'm having trouble getting to sleep...........that way by the time bed time comes around, you're usually exhuasted, and fall asleep w/o trying..

Try phenibut. A lot of those herbal remedies may help calm you down which can help you get to sleep easier but aren't very powerful. The combination of phenibut with theanine should definetly do the trick.

If you don't have something super important to do, such as, a test, job interview, etc., I'd just stay up until your next normal sleep time. Nothing puts you to sleep better than staying up for 35 or so hrs..

I bet even if you to get to sleep using some kind of remedy the next night you'll still have the problem.

:withstupi This is what I usually do to switch around my sleep schedule. Having had jobs starting at all kinds of crazy times during the day/night, I've had to rearrange my sleep schedule. Staying up more than 24 hours will work better than anything else I can think of. And I have had that problem consistently for about 12 years. I've tried the herbal approach (valerian and melatonin I guess I developed a tolerance to - weed works SOMETIMES, definitely not advocating that as a way to help you sleep), the only thing that really works for me is to meditate in bed, feel every muscle relax, and try to turn my head off (extreme ADHD mixed with a bit of an anxiety disorder) by focusing on my breathing, thinking about nothing other than the sound of my breathing and keeping every muscle completely relaxed.

Turn off the tv, computer, music, lights, cell phone, EVERTHING at 9pm and go to bed. You will fall asleep. I'm totally serious.

A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

    Look into 'Sleep Hygiene.'

    What I personally do:

Bed is for sleeping and sex. NOTHING else.
DON'T do anything stimulating before bed, like watching tv or listening to typical music.
DO do something relaxing before bed, like reading a novel, streches/yoga.
Make your as room dark as possible.
Try to block out any external noise - however, some kind of 'white noise' like a fan or aircon can be beneficial.
Poo is also LBM - The Built

I'll agree with the sex (or some form thereof ) advocates. It works for me. Not for her, but I digress....

Reading also makes me sleepy, or if I'm cutting, I time my caffeine dosage just right so I crash for bedtime.
