The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

I need to improve my grip

Whenever I do deadlifts my grip usually gives out before my muscles do. I think that maybe the problem might come from having thin fingers. So how would you recommend I improve my grip and put meat on my hands?

I have tiny hands, and thin fingers. They're starting to look mean, though. I really feel like heavy dumbbell rows have done the most for my static grip. I dont' swap a hand on deads until after I've done 315 with double-overhand. I'm trying to keep increasing that swap-point, though.

Take a towel, throw it over a chinup bar, grab one end in each hand and hang. Don't wrap your hands around the towel; just grab it.

ooo never thought of doing that. Id have to get a pretty stong towel tho. thanks for the lil tip.

You could also try one arm figner hangs from a wall. Or take up rock climbing. Ive seen rock climbers forearms and jesus, they are pretty damn huge, and strong as hell!! Ive seen some rock climbers, do one finger pullups, and also pullups whilst pinching. its outragoues, the finger strength you attain from rock climbing.

Any standard bath towel should do. Not one of those bare-bones hotel towels tho'--get a good one from Bed, Bath & Beyond. Or a beach towel if you double it up.

You can even do this in the backyard (over a tree branch) or in the basement (over a beam) so no trip to the gym is necessary.

Finish up with double overhand deadlifts, or just do them all that way. Your grip will catch up quick.
