1st) Don't do Arnold's routine. It worked for him because he's a freak and was on alot of drugs. You'll burn out very, very quickly.

2nd) Don't do bodypart routines, they generally suck. Do split routines.

Search this board for 'WBB1' or 'Baby Got Back.' They are both VERY good routines.

kw1k yes Arnold's routines are notorious for over-working the muscles. As brickt said, it worked for him because his case is much different from the average lifter.

also guys i would like to ask, i was talking to a friend of mine about my goal, which is to gain about 20lbs of muscle, right now i'm 5'5 147lbs, im not sure what my bf% is though. he's telling me that eating around 3000cals is to much for me? i work out 5 times a week including one hour of basketball every other day, also he's telling me that i should be taking in only 1.4 grams of protien for every kilgram of of weight , i thought it was 1gram for every lb of weight? i've been taking in about 155 grams of protein for the past 2 weeks of my bulking process?

Your friend doesn't have a clue. Find a caloric intake which you are consistently gaining weight each week. Once you stop gaining weight, add a few hundred calories and stick with that new caloric intake for a week. If you're still not gaining, add a few hundred more calories. You won't know how many calories that'll be without trial and error.

Advice: Stop listening to your friend.
