The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

As far as running? Football? Fighting? I'm going to assume (from your pic) that you mean footbal. Outside of sprints, shuttles and plyo drills, you could do box squats and cleans. The box squats would strengthen your hip flexors which would make yo ufaster (and jump higher). And cleans are just an explosive movement, you would definitely gain some speed benefit.

What are cleans exactly? I've seen them refferenced all over the place on these boards.

This probally wont help much its a pretty odd lift in my opinion.

    # Stand in front of a barbell with your feet about 16 inches apart and your shins almost touching the bar.
    # Grab the bar with your hands about 24 inches apart.
    # Squat until your upper thighs are almost parallel to the floor.
    # Keep your head up and your back straight and at a 45-degree angle to the floor as you stand erect and pull the bar up to your shoulders.
    # As you stand erect, flip the bar over and back until it rests on your upper chest in the top position

I think its the best someone can explain in writing.

[edit] Drew or anyone care to explain what box squats are?
