    Can't get biceps to ache!

I've been doing lateral pulldowns but with a chin up style grip, and these make my biceps burn horribly, aswell as my back, and I've ad to lower the weight halfway through workouts sometimes. I then go and do concentration curls, hammer curls, or preacher curls. However, none of these make my biceps ache the morning after. Shall I work them more often than other body parts?

The absence of DOMS does not signify the absence of growth.

You can do curls all day and never get them larger. Eat big, get big. Do compounds.

Have your friend punch you in the arms repeatedly. They'll hurt the next morning.

The only soreness I ever get in the bi's is down near the elbow--and it's slight. I never even THINK about whther or not I'm sore. Just tink about putting more weight on the bar if you're bulking, keeping what you have on the bar if you're maintaining, and doing your damnedest to keep what you have on the bar if you're cutting.

Unless you're doing insanely easy weight (by your own standards), then getting sore isn't going to be a benchmark for success.

*deeder bicep curls the needle over the scratch on getfit's record*

I try to get in as much bicep work as is possible. No matter what I'm doing... I curl the phone when I answer it... I curl paper clips when reading important documents... I curl air while I'm walking... I curl my mp3 player while I listen to music... I even curl my pillow before I go to bed.

    That's why I have 27" biceps.

Compounds mean using both arms, the stronger arm compensates for the weaker arm, I end up with one arm larger than the other. Curls are a very useful thing in my opinion, and used alongside compounds I should get good results. Anyhow, aren't pulldowns compounds movements?

Compound movements are any movement where you move at least 2 joints while moving a weight.

if u want them to burn or be really sore in the morning do reverse grip preacher curls. (not an underhand grip, overhand)

In general, doing more exercise will make the targeted muscles hurt more. Either way, soreness is no indicator of growth.
