nice workout, mike. hha, that's some high reppage shrugging at that weight. I bet you could get 315 for at least 5-6. When does the squat rack come in? I can picture you opening that thing like it's christmas morning.

That is so true Mike, taking a pill to look super would be too damn easy, lol...you are doing very well here, including the shoulder press where imo another set could have been done at 123 at least for what you're after.

It does take some time to get used to that damn bar while doing squats, nice work.

Hey thanks man Im quite pleased with my starting squats. I was saying to myself "If you dont get over a BW Squat you should give up now" lol I think with a little bit of training and getting used to the bar on squats. I would probably wbe able to do a double BW Squat (about 330lbs) in a few months. If only I had enough weights

If you have space, it'd be nice to get a better angle to see your hip, knee, foot positioning.

Make sure to keep your abs and upper back super tight - it will help eliminate some of that wobbling at the top. Also, out of the hole, make sure you are driving your head up first and it will help you keep your hips from rising faster than your head - there were a couple of reps where you were GMing it more than necessary. Looked good and strong though. I don't know if you intended to go to failure, but if you did I'd reconsider doing that without safety pins.
A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook
