The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Thnks so much to all of you! Its awesome that u give me such praise for my work. Excellent advice, support and eveyrthing else!

Just got back from workout! Damn I feel pumped! lol

    Monday 18th September 2006

    Upper Body Carnage

    Barbell Push Press (from Rack)

    22 x 15 (bar)
    66 x 8 (4 BTN 4 In front)
    110 x 5
    132 x 5
    136 x 3
    154 x 1
    160 x F
    160 x F

These felt alot better and Ithink they might push me through my Mil Press Plateua. Hoping for a 180 Push Press very soon!

    Barbell Shrug (from rack)

    160 x 12
    184 x 12
    204 x 12 (agony!) lol
    251 x 6 (PR)
    251 x 6 (Mixed grip)

One Arm Floor dumbell bench Press

    50's x 10/10
    58's x 10/10
    67's x 6/6
    76's x 6/2
    85's x 4/F
    94's x 2/Didnt attempt with left.

Alt DB Bicep Curls Heavy! lol.

    28's x 6
    41's x 6
    45's x 6
    50's x 6
    54's x 3 (PR)
    54's x 3 (PR)
    45's x 8/5
    45's x 4 (right arm only)

These blasted my bi's so hard!

    Grip Work

Grip was toasted after this workout anyways lol. Shrugs really raped it. I suppose it can be expeted as I dont use straps wraps or anything. all lifts are totally RAW

CoC Trainer 6 reps (to close) each hand.

#1 static hold for 20 seconds (close as much as possible)
Right: 20 seconds (almost kept fully closed for 20 seconds)
Left: 20 secnods (left was knackered. i kept gripping as much as i could. But nowhere near closed at all, held in for all 20 seonds without letting go tho)

Workout verdict: awesome feel great now!

Looking a lot stronger! Squats must be part of that! Keep up the good work.
A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

Chris – Thnks dude! Yes I rele think they work well.

Irish – Haha cheers man. Currently I’m hovering around 165-170lbs. Hannah’s scales must have mae a mistake when they said I was a solid 12 stone (170lbs) But ill get to that weight in no time. My goal for end of year is 200lbs. Although I do have a meet in December so I want to stay under 75kg. Which will be hard!

CoCoa- Thnk you so much man! I really went to town this workout!

LiftingKid – Its because I use odd weights like 1kg and 2kg plates and also my dumbbell bar weighs 2.5kg. And also because I round to the nearest whole number. For example. It should be 250.8 (114kg exactly) so i just say 251 (to look a tad better) lol.

    Rob – Thnks man!

Con – Thanks for stopping by dude! Here is an article on one amr dumbbell presses (floor presses)

Sensei – Cheers man! Thnks for checkin on me

Coke - Cheers dude Ima keep rising up and up an up! Trouble is I gotta stay below 75kg (165lbs) if i wanna compete on december 3rd in the meet. I have mixed feelings about staying under 75kg. I think Ill just see how it goes. Carry on bulking and see what weight I am at the meet (if i decide to go). thnks again coke.

Con- Haha cheers man! If only I had more weight I'd be using 330 for triples on DL

KW - Tank u very much and they are. Im very pleased with the 220 x 5. The first rep was so easy. Even the 5th didnt feel too bad.

Chris - Tar very muchly Chris

LK - Certainly do 0wN! lol

Solid squats, Mikey. What's the meet in December for, anyway? You said you have to stay under 75 kilos, what for? Kick some ass whatever it is, bro.

    hehe thanks man!

Its a Team and Deadlift Championship. So im assuming its just deadlift? lol
But im not sure. I wanted to stay under 75kg cuz otherwise i mite not be as good. But now im thinking about it harder. So im just gonna eat like a mule lift like a beast and rest like a cloud. If I weigh 85kg come the meet i weigh 85kg. Simple as. Im not bothered now. More food better gains.

And also My grip is becoming pretty stronga as hell thanks to static holds with the CoC grippers! I loaded up a 92.5kg dumbell at work yesterday and lifed the beast with each hand. No straps/wraps nothing! haha. I'll be attempting a 100kg dumbell soon enough
