The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Thnks fellas!!

Diet isnt that great to be honest. Im not eating properly fair and square. I try eat as much as possible when i can (when not at work or on breaks).
Its tough, (well only cuz im not planning my diet better).

    Thursday 12th October

Heavy Back/Leg and a bit of Shoulder

Barbell Squat Somethin's up. Same burning sensation again.

    Bar x 6
    135 x 6
    225 x 5 (incredible burning!) so went for a PR of 315
315 x F (burning nearly cooked me. Seriousley bad.) Bailed the lift, I probs couldnt have made it anyway.

I dont know what it could be. I'm breathing correctly. Tech seemed to be perfect. Maybe some nerves are just being squeeezed a bit? Think it could be a doctors appointment for me.

    BB Push Press

    135 x 5
    154 x 3
    176 x 1 (PR!)

    Front Lat Raise Dumbell

    22's x 12
    35's x 6

    One armed...
    35's x 5
    55's x 5

    Deadlifts

    225 x 5 (cake)
    225 x 5 (more cake)
315 x 3 (could have got 5. But wanted to leave some steam for 405)
405 x F (ddint have it in me. Should have just stuck with 315 x 5 and then 355 x 5. Im an idiot

    Seated Row

Whole stack. Silly. lol. Still a good pump though.

    154 x 5
    154 x 5
    154 x 5
    154 x 5
    154 s 5

Barbell T-Bar Rowing (ronnie style) Awesome! hehe

Asked a guy in the gym to stand on the one end of the barbell. (so much easier) lol.

    2 plates (90lbs) x 8
    3 plates (135) x 8
    5 plates (225) x 5
    6 plates (270) x 4
7 plates (315) x 1 (PR!)(Ok. I really pulled my ass off to get this **** up! lol. At 5 plates i was thinking. **** this is easy! lol. at 6 plates i was ready for my arms to rip off. At 7 plates I just about got a rep. I dunno how ronnie does 12 plates. Thats nuts! lol. I'll try get a few reps on 315 next time. Im happy with workout!

man. Although from what it looks like you had a sick workout it seems like you went a little to much on some. Lol if 225x5 is hard for squats then 315 is too much, if your last max was 250 id say go for 275 tops, but thats just me. Whats the most weight and reps you have done on deadlift? I saw your video at 375 that was nice but how many times can you get 315 you think? Id LOVE to see a vid of those tbar rows, 7 plates man...

Chris – Cheers dude. It certainly does make a massive difference!

Nate - I agree it was stupid of me to go for 315 on squats. But I was just annoyed at the burning sensation! Lol. I’ll keep it cool for a while. Just try and do some sets on 225 and see how I fair. For deads I wreckon I could get 315 for a solid 8-10 reps. And I was tryin to record a video of my t-bar rows but my camera kept playing up! (my camera phone is in for repair). But I’ll try and get a video recorded as soon as possible! Thanks dude.

LK – Just in the top right of the groin area. I had a suspected hernia just over a year ago (in the same kind of place) But when I went to the specialist he said he couldn’t find anything and that it was probably just some trapped nerves. Maybe I’m just overdoing it on squats?

K – Cheers for the link man. I’ve gone right off watching saw 3 now to be honest. Although id still like to know what’s gonna happen to jigsaw in the end.

Coke – Thnks coke! Yer I’ve just gotta stay cool and not get too carried away with anything. 8 plate t-bar row next time… lol

Kevin – Thanks man. Well I’m full of stupid ideas, but I just always try to plough through anything that’s in my way.

Irish – Thank u very much! I sure hope so! I want a 3 x BW Deadlift by Christmas. (75lb increase. Im determined!)

HILL – thnks dude. I love hittin PR’s. Even if they are small.

    Thanks KW
I was pleased to hit 225. I'd like to be hitting in the 260-270 region before xmas. I know its possible because I can improve my chest strength alot (although I think its my tri's which are letting me down) Might be a good idea for me to do some heavy tri work on shoulder day. I can do it! :evillaugh

Workin out 2moz morning! Gonna have two steak burgers for breakfast alongside a bowl of cereal. I gotta try an get a 240 bench.

And ive come to the conlcusion that because I'm not gonna be going to the gym as often as I would like, I might have to do quite a few muscle groups each workout. So tomoz I might do Back/Chest/Shoulders. and next workout Legs/Bi's/Tri's

Im jus switching it up. Maybe legs and back would be better on the same day. So Id probs go like this.

    Back/Legs/Chest and next workout Shoulders/tri's/bi's

    What you guys think?

sometimes back and legs are a bit much on the same day. it's up to you though, b/c some people don't mind DLing and squatting on the same day.
