I recently got into kickboxing and I realized that everybody there fights at a fairly low weight. The dude there that can pretty much rock everybody is about 6'3 and fights at 165. Another dude is 6'1 and fights at 130. I walked in at 6' and 188(been lifting pretty hard this year). My normal weight before lifting was between 155-165. My question is it seems easier and a smarter idea to drop back down to 155 since it is my normal weight. To stay at 188 i've had to greatly increase my calorie consumption and need to lift steady, i'm also a lot slower than I was at 155. Can really tell the difference but there's also a big difference in the power. Anybody else fight at a weight that is outside their normal weight? If so how did that go?
