What does everyone think of doing Zercher's on a Monday and then doing heavy deads on Wednesday.. HELP!

I dont think that Zerchers are important enough to change my whole split around are they?

Monstar-probably depends on how much weight you are using.Zercher squats always hit my low back hard, and I know I wouldn't be able to do heavy deads two days after a zercher squat workout. But that's just me.

I gotta give Zerchers a try. I wanted to start to incorporate front squats into my leg workout but I could never get used to how they felt (clean grip or hands crossed over). Zerchers are more comfortable that fronts? They seem a bit awkward, but front squats are out of the question for me...

DC-zerchers are a good lift to prepare you for front squats.holding the weight in front of your body is the real bitch of it.also, zerchers hit the abs and low back muscles real well.helps if you plan on doing below parallel front squats.

why not just do a front squat? where you put the bar across your upper arms/shoulders and fold your arms over it

Mickey, alot of people are limited to the weight they can hold or pain they can bear doing it that way.

sorry to break up the zercher squat party over here, but I just recently tried hack squats (the real ones) cause I dont have a rack and they are excellent.
