The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Do you train to look good or be stronger?

I personally train to look and feel good, getting stronger is secondary. O yeah, I also get off on the feeling I get while lifting. Thoughts?

I think a little bit of both.. The strength is great, but so is the fact that you look good..They kind of go hand in hand, with the exception of powerlifters, aint that right guys..

Disclaimer: That powerlifter remark was aimed towards the ones that I am friendly with on this board, I meant humorously, not seriously, with that said, if you are still offended, I dont particularly care..

Disclaimer #2: That last remark about totally not caring was honest and truthful, I dont care if that offended you either

I train for size, not strength.
If I wanted to be strong I would be 30 pounds lighter.

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

I partially train to look good because its like a bonus. But I train because I love it. Theres nothing else I would rather do, except spend time with my girlfriend obviously.

I would train to to look good, but I don't think I could look any better then I do now

I'm training to burn off my extra energy and stress. I sit all day at school and work, I just need to get out and burn off my energy. Getting jacked was just a side effect.

I used to train just for looks, but now it's a little bit of both since I'm finally starting to get a little bit of strength. But I still think it's more for looks though..
