The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    no, it cant be done.

we got a friend to try it and like halfway through he threw it all up, along with a good amount of blood.

someone said it is because the calcium eats away at your stomach lining or something like that and you start bleeding in your stomach.

so, yeah, bottom line; dont try it (but if you do, tell us how it went)
I've seen a friend try to jump 8 feet and fail miserably. That doesn't mean it can't be done.

its not the lactose, milk is a base and when you drink that much it upsets the proper pH balance in your stomach and this is why your body rejects it and makes you throw it up, ive downed a gallon in an hour but i threw it all back up, so its possible to get down but damn near impossible to keep down, if you manage to keep it down, yeah it comes out the other end looking alot like the way it went in but with a brown tint and that is the lactose kicking in

as far as the gallon of beer in an hour its definetly possible, hell i do it at least once or twice a week give or take

I've now heard 4 different reasons it isn't possible. Too much liquid, too much lactose, too much calcium, too basic in pH. What's the truth?

Shouldn't make statements with absolutes like that.

I did it a few years ago, though I used skim milk. It actually took me 47 minutes and was able to keep it down, though I've also got an amazingly strong stomach.

I don't recommend anyone try it because it hurts and will make you feel like **** for 2 days or so afterward.

It is possible, there are contests for the gallon challege and people have completed it. Most people however, are unable to handle that much milk. The milk fat gets digested very slowly. So slowly that your stomach is unable to process the whole gallon in only 1 hour. So, while for most it will always be impossible, a select few can handle that much milk

I've tried milk years back and it didn't end up too pretty.
But I have downed over a gallon water in 30 minutes many times. I think I wont be doing it anytime soon after hearing of this story.

Its a combination of everything. A little bit of this and a little bit of that.

I think it can be done without many problems. But I agree that it'll come back up before that hour is over. So getting it down isn't the problem...its keeping it down.

I'd be very skeptical for people that say they've done it unless they are exceptionally big. I'm talking like chase big.

I drank a full gallon of 2% in an hour. I didn't really know it was bad for you or anything. No vomiting, I just felt full and burped a lot.

I might try homogenized some day. I love homogenized.

I think I could do a gallon in an hour. I already drink 1/2 gallon almost every day at lunchtime between my giant mug of milk and 5 bowls of cereal.

Well, BigAlex is obviously a big sumbitch. When I did it, I weighed about 250 at almost my current height. Big helps, but it's possible for small people to have a large capacity also. I'd like to see Kobayashi try that ****. Anyone know if he has?

someone should apply some science to this. if its too much lactose, buy those enzymes people can take if they are lactose intolerant. if its too basic, drink some acid. there are ways around these things and must be done!
