The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Plan = Go on 3 month bulk Need Advice

Until about 2 weeks ago, I was on a 6 week bulk. I learned a lot from that one:much more carb much less fat to make my body grow. I still happened to have gained ~5-6 lbs of LBM abd 5-6 lbs of fat in those 6 weeks.

Since I have always been lean, I hated my small love handles and I missed my abs. Curing those 6 weeks I went from about 12% to 15%

In the last 2 weeks, me being the amazine ectomorph I am, I was able to bring myself down from 15% to 12-13%. Maybe you can guy guess better what I am.

My question is, do you guys think I should cut a little more, maybe 9-11%, before I go on my long bulk? Judging from what I learned from my last bulk, I THINK I can gain 2lbs of LBM with only 1 lbs of fat this time.

My goal is 10lbs of muscle by the last week of August.

Any comments, questions, advice, or words of wisdom?

to be completely honest, I don't see love handles whatsoever. I think if you took a step back and stopped overanalyzing your bodyfat you would realize you have quite a few pounds to go before love handles would be noticeable. You would look much healthier and badass if you just kept bulking till you gained at least 25 lbs. Seriously, I think a lot of people on the forum will agree with me. You have amazing potential with those wide clavicles and the proportions of your upper body. How does the lower body look?

    Thanks a lot.

My theory is (or was atleast) that if I'm genetically predispositioned to stay small, I should try to create the illusion of being jacked by getting ripped- losing BF seemed incredibly easy for me.

Currently, I'm 5'11 at ~160 lbs. My long term goal maybe in the 185 lbs range like your 25lbs advice indicated

My goal is 10lbs in 3 months ( 3 = months before I go off to college), I didn't want to shoot for an impossible goal, 10 lbs should be a good goal?

Amazing potential? I've never heard anyone say that about my body type. I greatly appreciate it. From what I gather, my fore arms are a strong point along with my back and decent shoulders. But my arms are SEVERELY lacking. My fore arms are 11'' and my arms are 11.5'' and 12'' relaxed.

What stands out to me are two things....#1 - I would definitely focus on putting on mass. #2 - Are you left handed? You don't look very symmetrical. Your left shoulder, pec, etc looks much bigger than your left. I would work on evening that out. JMO
    Bench - 315*1 Goal 325
    Squat - 275*4 ATF Est 1RM = 300 Goal 310
    Deadlift - 405 x3 Est 1RM = 429 Goal 455

    Goal by 6/1 1010

I just started doing real squats and deadlifts about a month ago so hopefully these will grow quickly.

I'm sure you mean his left shoulder/ pec etc looks bigger than his right, right? If so then I agree with you on that. I would assume that he is left handed do to:
1.) the camera being held by the left hand
    and
2.) he arcs his left side (arms, shoulders etc) up higher

To the op, eat man. Don't worry about fat, you seem to have good genetics to keep it off. As you said as well, it's not hard for you to lose it. So take advantage of that and bulk. Then when you don't like the way you look in the mirror, cut.

if cutting is easy for you then bulk up and stay bulked for 1 1/2 years. When you cut you should be about 180-190 cut.

    Actually, I'm not left handed.

My left pec and left front delt is larger from kickboxing (left hook was one of my favorites and I did kickboxing for 5 years)

I'm also screwed up that my left clavical seems to be above my right so my entire left side is shifted up....

EDIT: I'm curious hat pics did you notice that? The front shots?

EDIT 2: How weird is it for my forearms to be almsot out growing my arms?

    My cut is/was ~0200-2500 cals a day.

It was about 130-180 grams of carbs, 100-180 grams of protein and and 50-100 grams of fat. I lifted about 5 times a week

My bulk plan is going to be in the region of 600 grams of carbs 250ish grams of protein and 120ish grams of fat.

    Chest+ Tris Monday

    Back +Bi Tuesday

    Chest + Tris Wednesday

    Shoulder Thursday

    Legs Friday

I realized that, for my chest to grow, I need to pound it 2x a week

I think your bodyfat is about 9% right now, but I'm not great at estimating for thin people.

I would just try to gain 1-1.5 lbs per week and get a good routine and eat clean. If you do that, you should be able to put on minimum fat gain. I've been bulking forever and I don't really look like a fatass.

As I've mentioned in other threads, this is a point that there is disagreement in the WBB community about, but I define a clean bulk as not eating overly processed carbs, no bad fats, etc. I eat a lot of my calories in protein (well over the recommended amount) and this has been helpful as well. Try to time your meals well (ie eating carbs/protein in morning, fats/protein at night, tons of food after you work out for 2 hours, correct timing of fast and slow digesting foods, etc).

If you do all that and keep a good lifting routine (I like Chris Mason's "15 lbs in 1 month" routine on the Bodybuilding section) I think you can seriously bulk up to 200 lbs without looking chunky.

Slow, fast; clean, dirty; it doesn't matter, just bulk!
