I was just wondering why it is that some people look like they way less then they do and why some people look like they way alot more.
For instance people tell me all the time I look like I weigh 185-190 pounds and I only weigh 165. Some guy was even trying to give me some old clothes he didnt fit into anymore that were about a 33 waist, I told him 30 was the biggest I could fit into and that even then I would need a belt and he was so surprised he said I looked bigger then that.
Anyways I've been trying to figure out why this is and I just can't I thought maybe it had something to do with BF precentages but wasnt sure. So if someone who knows the answer to this could please explain I would gretly appreciate. I've been trying to figure it out but I just can't.
I'm 213 @ 17% bodyfat and I'm always confused for smaller. I used to be 255 @ 36% bf, and when I see people for the first time in a while, they don't even really notice the added muscle.

I guess they're accustomed to seeing me as a total tub'o'lard so it's hard to imagine me as "muscular" and so "not fat" is associated with skinny.

Most people in the gym guessed my weight at anywhere from 25-50lbs lower then the real weight. The only real thing I can figure is that I do have a bigger amount of muscular mass then most fat bastards or their just being nice to me.
i think i look exactly on how much i weigh which is kinda low at the moment,was sick for two weeks,so didn't help much

right now im at 213lbs with body fat around 12%... most people say i look like a weigh a good bit less than this. My legs are pretty big compared to the rest of my body and i have the squaters ass. Im pretty sure this is where the extra weight is.

im about 230lbs dont know about body fat, probably around 15% maybe a touch higher at the moment. people generally think i weigh less than 220 and are surprised when i say more. for me its cos my legs and ass are big(ger).
I am 6'4, 230 lbs and my body fat isn't especially high (11-14% I'd guess). Most people think I'm "maybe a little over 200." I have no idea why, but even when I look at my pictures I think I look like I weigh a lot less than I actually do. It really pisses me off!

I weigh in at 240, and everyone thinks I am around 215.
I weight 248 and the last couple of times when I go to the "guess your weight" game at Six Flags, they have guessed 200 and 205. Both times I was wearing long pants so they couldnt see my legs.
I love that game, I can get my kids a "toy" and not have to try over and over to do it.

Considering such a HUGE portion of the population is fat asses I think their eyes instantly go towards people mid-sections to guess their weight. I have a 30-32 inch waist and most people guess I'm around 175lbs at 6'. I'm actually at 200 right now.
I think clothes play a big part too. With no shirt on and shorts on people guess my weight much closer to what it really is. I think cause they see it's not just a big shirt, it's actually my shoulders etc.
I weigh anywhere from 215-225 yet people always peg me at the 180 range. When I wear shorts then people usually guess the right range.
Obviously most people look at the upper body to gauge someone's weight.

I think its mainly a bonestructure thing, I have a light bonestructure, but a fair amount of muscle piled onto it so Im always estimated to be lighter than I really am.
I weigh in at 160lbs cut, most people always guess 180lbs. Dont know why?...
