The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Best place and lowest price to find a solid barbell weight set?

Been looking for a while now. I'm getting sick of using my sister's 5-lb pink fitness dumb bells. Do you know how annoying it is to do 3,773 reps per set of bicep curls? Ok, so, not literally, but, anyway, I'm in the market for at least a 300-lb. barbell weight set. Without sounding like an annoying mooch, can anyone help me find one? Online is welcome.

You're best set is to find a used set, and being as the shipping on that stuff is rediculous, you should look locally.

Any large sporting goods store or Walmart-alike should have $100 300lb olympic sets.

A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

Yes, go with a used set. Stores like "2nd Wind" and "Play it Again Sports" would have what you need (if you have those stores near you).

Otherwise check your local newspaper for classifieds.

I think there is a article on the front page on this exact topic.
Face it: biceps are the muscle that classifies you as a muscle man.

Yeah, shipping sucks with these sets. That's why I'm having a hard time making a decision to purchase one online. I may have to take a trip to another city.
