Same happened to me years ago. The first week I let myself wallow in it. Sometimes it feels good to do so. After that, like everybody else said, I used it. One of my best friends even commented on the other day how that created a turning point for me. It used to be that weightlifting was just a hobby. After that, it became a way of life. Its how I deal with things.

The last workout I did it was more of mental failure than actual muscle failure (lower pain tolerance), so I decide to stop for a week.
Haha yeah, it's funny because I started a thread this week about not being able to sleep... Looks like we're in the same boat here. I dont think there's anything wrong with taking time off. But I miss the gym already

The true experts here will correct me if im wrong, but high levels of stress, anxiety etc will release something called cortisol into your body which has a detrimental effect on muscletissue so the trick is to not get caught in a vicious cycle of giving up on your workouts due to dissapointing results. "Feeling the burn" will ultimately force your stress levels to drop.

Its getting better, but i still love her more than anything and she still loves me too. She still says I love you when we get off the phone. The whole story is her ex boyfriend called about 2 weeks ago and said he was still in love with her(bull****), and she feels sorry for dumping him because he just moved an hour away. So she decided to end our relationship for the time being to get things straitend out, I guess eather go with him or me. She said if "anything happens" that she still wants to be best friends with me and everything. I know you guys might think shes trouble but she means the world to me and we had a very strong relationship. I cant just forget her, not yet. But I am getting better, thanks to friends, hobbys, and even you guys

My Dad has had 3 divorces. I win.

Working out usually helps relieve a little stress, but something like a broken heart is definitely going to keep you from your normal routine. You'll come around. Keep your chin up.
Best way to cheat on deadlifts...

Stand there for a few minutes, then pace back and forth a lot, huff and puff, wait until everybody's looking. Approach the bar. Back off. Approach it again. Back off. Get some water. Chalk up. Approach the bar again. Then spray some more chalk around. Wait until people start losing interest. When nobody's looking, pick it a little off the floor, and slam it down. Jump up and yell "LIGHT WEIGHT BABY". Then give high fives all around. - Belial

If you truley love someone you dont just ditch them. you let them help you get through everything. If she truley loves you she wouldnt jsut finish the relationship. But i dont know.

Yeah nate, I find that shady that she would claim to be in love with you but then need time to sort things out entirely because of what her ex-boyfriend said. Give it some time - you're young yet, so it might just be puppy-love anyhow.
