The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Soreness is not an indication of a good or bad workout or muscle growth. If you are making progress, that's all that matters. Doing excessive exercise to try and get your shoulders "sore" is a horrible idea. Just focus on making gains and don't worry about all that nonsense.

    Over time they will grow. Go easy as others have said. But you might try one intense workout after a good four day rest, just to see what happens. It has worked for me. After that you will get a better idear of how much how often. Remeber your muscles grow during the recovery days. Make sure your are getting plenty of protien. I suggest Whey isolate.....

    You get soreness from not getting enough protien.

    My shoulders never get sore after my millie presses. And my houlders are slowly growing in size so I wouldnt say (in my own expreience) that

    Soreness = Growth.

    Id say that

    Soreness = lack of warmed up or warmed down muscle, creating too much lactic acid

    i just worked shoulders couple hours ago, it depends how hard you push yourself, i found shoulders needed the most attention, my shoulder set right now is dp shoulder press warmup-3 sets of 6-10 reps, if i can do 10 i go heavier, then side raises, warmup then the 3x6-10, same deal, then rear delts warmup 3x6-10, then its on to traps. i found i got the most growth/strength with this routine than ive ever had, my shoulders have always lacked but there starting to fill in big time now.

    soreness does not depend how hard you push yourself. ive tried high rep and low rep work and my shoulders still do not really get sore. Also their is no need to warm up before every exercise.

    My shoulders never get sore either. Well I rarely get sore at all anymore, but my shoulders are the only body part where I have not experienced DOMS.

    Posts 11 through 15 have 2 capital letters between them. My eyes are bleeding.

    And I think my brain started bleeding after reading that protein deficiency causes soreness (or is it soarness?).
