The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Deadlift 435 501PR 507PR Best Lift = 507 Personal Record!
Ironman Total = 887 Personal Record!

All of us won first in our class.

My highlight was that I pulled my first 500 deadlift and then managed to break that PR with another on my third attempt to get 507, a 27lb meet PR over the 480 I pulled at Collinsville. On my bench, I used my looser shirt and could not lock out 369. I was hoping to god I'd get a weight to touch in my Size 42 F6, which I had never gotten a good lift in at a meet. Luckily, the 380 came down smooth and I was able to lock it out and keep it in the groove! I did tweak my wrist a bit which was why I passed on a third attempt. Still, it was a 17 lb improvment over Collinsville. 400 will soon be mine!

Matt Mongeon set 2 state records for his class and his second deadlift was also a 29lb PR. Very good form on all his lifts, especially those squats! I think Nick and Matt had the best looking squats all day and I'm not just saying that 'cause I'm biased.

Nick made a very strong showing squatting in a a poly single-ply with an over 600 squat, set a huge bench PR in a loose shirt with a runner, and then set a nice deadlift PR blasting up the 628 like nothing. I thought for sure he had 640 in him but just couldn't lock it out at the top. Still his 1650+ total was a 3 lift PR.
