    Be kind.

These will be my "before pix" as of today, 13 July 2006.

For reference, I've been on a slow, clean bulk since early March. Weight in these pix is 172. I had a minor set back this week (details in journal).

No insult intended: But what have you been doing for the 2 and a half years you've been signed up to this site?

Pictures: You really should pack on some mass.

Something you don't know is that I'm HIV+.

Also, when I first began lifting I was skinnier than a toothpick. Try 6'2" and 139. And weaker than a leaf.

But yes, you're right, I need more mass.

Your right, I wasn't aware of that. Knowing that and knowing you were skinnier than a toothpick, I congratulate you on your progress. So how long are you planning to stay on your bulk?

I had set a goal of 200 lbs. by December 2006 but in light of something that's going on right now, I'm going to have to recalibrate. I really am trying to keep things clean as possible but at 4000+ calories a day its starting to become slightly difficult. I can still do it if I force myself to eat like no tomorrow.

25 lbs. in six months is doable but it won't be 25 lbs. of muscle.

First of all, get yourself some sunless tanner for those legs! Just kidding, Soba, I'm whiter than Casper the friendly ghost, so I jest where I can. Second, awesome job on packing on some mass in the past few years. 30 lbs is a really nice gain, and I'm sure you've had enormous commensurate increases in your lifts since then. I would personally bulk up another 10-20 lbs (ending up somewhere around 180-190, no?) then cut down ~10 lbs (intelligently, of course).

    Just my $0.02. Good luck!

You have obviously made good progress. And especially made progress since you were 139 (I know what being a toothpick is like, pretty sweet eh?, LOL)

I would continue the slow clean bulk and just keep gaining strength and size. Some people dont realize it's alot harder to come by for some than others, add in additional problems and it becomes increasingly difficult. Good job on sticking to it and keep up the progress bro.

Thanks for the support, guys. It really does mean a lot.

McIrish, I was 187 or thereabouts in late November 2005, then went on a PSMF-style cut to about 166. Could be off by 1 or 2 pounds there.

I couldn't get past the socks. Sorry.

Keep at it. Don't make things more complicated than they need to be.

    Geez.

But from what I can see, you look a lot leaner now!

    Heh. Thanks Mix.

I do have other pix but they're not appropriate for this site.

I don't know about lean. I wish my waist would stop jiggling. But I'll take what I can get!

I'll find out in 2 weeks. Doc wants me to fast for 12 hours prior to getting my blood work done (think it has something to do with accurate cholesterol count). It's going to be hell on earth for me. I don't know how I can go three hours...let alone twelve without calories.

I expect CD4 count to be 800+ and vload undetectable.

    That would be sweet.

I've gone 24 hours without food or water when trying to make weight. You're gonna want to hurt someone when you haven't eaten in that long.

great improvements! especially with everything that is going on. when do u have to do the bloodwork? if it's in the morning it shouldn't be that bad, just eat a lot before the cutoff and u'll fall asleep like a baby, and then as soon as u get the tests done u can gorge urself with food! at least that's what i've always done.

That's what I do. Then you pretty much only have to skip breakfast for a few hours at most.
