Eating foods high in protein before and after a workout gives your body the necessary "nutrients" to help rebuild what cells you have "broken down."

About 2 hours before, whey shake and almonds. Immediately after, dextrose, whey, creatine. About 2 hours after, full P+C meal, usually chicken and rice with some veggies.

Getfit, was wonderin about your response.

Eggs and cheese both caught me off guard, since they have fat in them and I thought the recommendation was for the PWO meal was to be P+C. Then the fruit which is still carbs but wouldnt some other type of carbs be better?

I might be completely wrong(still learning a lot) but I was just wondering.

an hour before a workout I have a wrap (tortilla, chicken, extras), and a protein shake during the worout. After the workout- a full meal.

This goes back to the whole High GI vs Low GI debate, eating fat in PWO wont cause as big of an insulin spike but for us who dont really care about spiking insulin as high as you can pwo, having some fat is ok. I'm guessing she is using low to if any yolks though mostly white.

Anyone have any thoughts on if one protein is better than another PWO, like eggs, chicken, fish etc.

1 cup dry oats with 1 scoop protein 45 minutes or so before. Same after work out with a scoop of creatine.
