The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Barbell Squats and Front Squats all in the same day.

Doing barbell squats and then going to front squats. Is that overkill outnumber for your legs.
    1. Barbell Squats 4-5 sets 8-15 reps
    2. Front Squats 3-4 sets 8-10 reps

    ........?

If you're going to do that, I would do one exercise with low reps between the 1-5 range, then move on to the next exercise with reps in the 8-10 range. Otherwise in my opinion it's too much volume.

How often are you going to do this? It's fine if you don't do it more than 2x a week because it's a lot of work.

Your legs will hate you but I've done both in the same day before. 3x a week might be a bit extreme though.

It might be fine for a few weeks, but if you keep it up you will hit a wall and might lose strength.

Squats + front squats + power cleans is brutal in one workout.

The thing is I only can workout at my house. I only have a power rack, 45 pound barbell with 600 hundred pounds of barbell plates, EZ bar, and dumbbells going up to 60 pounds. Hardcore basic is all I got lol. I don't have any cable system or anything like that. I also have a weight bench too. Thinking about replacing it with one of those benches you can turn into a leg extension exercise and preacher exercise.

That's fine, but you don't have to do all that 3 times a week.

Iv did them both for the same workouts for a couple of months. Like others have said, make one lower heavier sets and the other higher lighter. Like heavy low rep squats then higher rep fronts.

    Am I reading this right?

You are doing legs three days a week. (M, W, Sa)
You are doing chest three days a week. (T, Th, Su)
You are doing back once a week. (Sa also)
    Only 1 day off. (F)

Is it me, or is this a recipe for disaster? (Or at least over training?)

Remember, you grow out of the gym, not in it...

    (And why back only once?)

I started doing both. Yesterday I did heavy sets of regular ATF squats 3x6x265 (after warm up sets). Then later in the leg workout I did sets front squats at around 135lbs, with higher reps. Working on getting my front squat form down because I've been doing tabata front squats on off days for HIIT.
