    THE SQUAT

Down this road, in a gym far away,
a young man was heard to say,
"no matter what i do, my legs won't grow"
he tried leg extensions, leg curls, and leg presses , too
trying to cheat, these sissy workouts he'd do.

from the corner of the gym where the big men train,
through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain
where the noise is made with big forty fives,
a deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees.
a very big man with legs like trees.

laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack
chalking his hands and monstrous back,
said, "boy, stop lying and don't say you've forgotten,
the trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN'. "

"There are many times I wish I was playing 18 holes of golf instead of training on my bike in cold, miserable weather. But in the final analysis, I'd rather win the Tour de France than play 18 holes of golf, that's why I do it." - Greg Lemond

that's my personal favorite because sure, a lot of the time I would rather lay on the couch and watch tv instead of getting under a ton of cold iron... but I'd rather squat 4x bodyweight than lay on the couch, so I do it.

My dad use to have that in his office on a really good poster. Man I forgot that one, it's nice to hear it again though.

Once, at LA Fitness, I went into the locker room to take a leak. There was this little hairy, naked guy (probably my age) with it swinging down to his knee. He was really showing it off and smiled at me (WTF?!?) and winked. Me, being me, told him out loud, "if you want to impress me with that, have it hold up a barbell with 2 plates a side."

"Stop Being a Little Bitch" seems to get thrown around during workouts quite a bit lately.

quote in my sig. not sure what ever happened to that member.

Also there's a ton of good Rippetoe quotes, great style with a good combo of humor and seriousness. Too many to list, I'm sure we all know the gist of it.
