LOL, dude, there's a handful of powerlifters now squatting over a grand. And yes, all of them out squat any bodybuilder.

Jack London is a bodybuilder, which is what I think Nate's point was.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Ronnie's 800 for 2 was raw whereas I would assume London's squat would be equipped, which makes a huge difference.

Ronnie does close stance squat to develop his quads better, i've never seen Jack London squat but if hes doing 1000+ at a powerlifter im sure hes doing a wide stance. Your going to squat heavier weight if you go wide because your incorporating your glutes into the lift.

Hey everybody, Jack London Here!!!!m Great questions, here are some answers:

    1) I did squat 1010, back in 87' I was 19 years old, I was a powerlifter at the time, and a superheavyweight.

    2) I cannot squat that amount as a bodybuilder, as my training is vastly different now. I can incline 405 for 12 and such, but I don't train for strength anymore.

    3) I benched 661 with no shirt as well. So imagine what I could have benched with today's technology in shirts!!!!

Take care all, and keep the faith! NOC Sept 16th.

Very impressive. Could you give a basic outline of what your training was like back then?

Sure, my coach at the time used to say" if you want to get your squat up, then squat!!" He was not a big beiliver in assistance work.

Monday-Squat( 6 sets) rep range 2-5 depending on how far out
    Tuesday-Bench(same thing) tricep extensions(3 sets)
    Wed-Off
thursday- deadlift( same) 3 sets lat pull downs
    friday-various assistance work/nothing crazy
    sat-of
    sun-off

High, High, High intensity...Not much quanity, just loads of Quality.

Yes, this is very true. I was kidding though, I started lifting for football. Then got into the powerlifting in high school. All-in-All, it's been a great ride...
