The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    DE UPPER
    Flat Barbell bench: 5x3 @ 125, 3x3 @ 115
    Dips: 7, 6, 5
    Millitary press: 7, 6, 4x65
    Neutral grip row: 8x70, 7x70, 6x70
    Hammer curl: 9x20, 7x20

    Notes
The bar speed was getting really slow so I lowered the weight. My form is pretty crappy, but there were a couple of really good reps in there. I have to focus on controlling the bar down instead of letting in drop to my chest. As you can tell, by the time I got to millitary press my tris were smoked lol

Why don't you do the military first or second so that both your major compound movements come first in your workout? That way you'll have more energy for it. Good effort either way.

Thanks! The millies weren't primary movement - needed to hit tris and chest. In hindsight, I should have done laterals/raises of some sort to keep the tris out. Oh well, more tricep work is never a bad thing

Is your main issue with benching just controlling the bar?
    PRs: 655/525/645 = 1825 Total
    Meet PRs: Bench Only 525

That's good news It is my main focus on DE day.

Partly. I know my form isn't very good, but I also have a generally weak upper body. Put 'em together and you get a very lousy bench press.

    DE Lower
    Squat: 10x2 @ 70% (195), single @ 85% (235)
    Deadlift: 6x1 @ 70% (215)
    Hex bar deadlift: 10x90, 8x180, 5x230 (too heavy ), 8x180, 8x180
    Decline situps: 14,11,8x35 lbs

    Notes
Squats felt great. I've been really focusing on using my glutes and hams instead of my quads. My ass hurts! The single went up pretty quick and I should be able to set a PR on my next attempt. The hex bar deadlifts were awesome! Never done them before and it worked my lower back very hard. My back was so fried I had to pass on the hypers.

    ME UPPER
    Decline DB press: 5x40, 4x45, 3x50, 2x55, 2x60, 2x65, 1x70
    Narrow V pushdown: 10x70, 10x70, 4x80
    Narrow grip bench: 5x95, 5x85, 5x85
    Neutral grip row: 8x70, 8x70, 6x70

    Notes
For some stupid reason I decided to do doubles up to 65s when I should have been sdoing singles starting at 55. I think I could have got 75s, maybe 80s if I wasn't such a ******. Also I had to do the pressdowns first because the flat benches were taken. Either way, my tris and chest are fried

Holy mother of God!! Best session EVER! Absoloutely destroyed my previous record I even had a dude check my depth and he said I was good. The 305 was a grinder -he ran over to help me and I told him not to. After that I was punched so I took it light and easy the for the rest of the session.
