The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    I set a PR today!

New cardio personal record of 37 minutes on the bike, burning 200 calories. I would guess my heart rate around 137 because it was in the same groove as I usually am at the gym.

I usually could only go 20 minutes but I zoned out today and just went for it. Now, if I can only do that twice a day and clean up my diet more I would be on track.

I would think 37 min at that hr would burn more than 200 calories. My wife does spin for 45 min and the instructor claims they burn 450-600 cals. I understand the difference between a constant cadence and doing jumps and sprints but I would still bet you burned twice what you said.

I don't do much during the day so I use it to help my body burn more cals than I intake.

it probably wouldnt hurt someone who can usually only do 20 minutes on a stationary bike to do a little cardio now and then.

no offense to the original poster.

Is 37 minutes really too much cardio? I didnt think that much would have an effect on gains... would it if it were done like two or maybe three times a week? Say... running three or four miles?...
