Well, it was slow.... reeaaallly slow.... but I got 290 on military. I was actually planning on 285 x 2 but I changed my mind after the first rep and decided to go for a new max, lol. Incline was pretty good, especially after the heavy military. I've been using a slightly more narrow grip and it feels a million times better on the pec/shoulder that's been bothering me lately.

Not happy about today. My hips were pretty tight and everything is just beat up in general from squatting on Tuesday, warm-ups felt like shit and 585 really felt like shit. I was going to just call it quits and then for some reason my stupid ass decides to try and pull 640 for 2. Just as I'm breaking the ground on the first rep something pops in my right hip, same spot that's been bothering me this past month. I think I'm gonna take the next 2 or 3 weeks off from pulling heavy and let this shit heal, maybe hit some higher rep deficit pulls as I haven't pulled conventional in a long time. Pretty stupid on my part.

The narrower grip with millies are the way to go bro, good deal on tweaking things where needed.

Excellent new shots in the pics thread. Been a pleasure watching you evolve in this game, with more to come no doubt.

Wish you well, slowing it down a bit will do the trick.

Thanks guys. I don't think it's anything serious, just a strain that I need to let fully heal.

Saw the pics as well, looking thick sir keep it up. Sorry to hear about the tweak on dead's its happened to me with sumo's several times before its no fun but glad to hear you say its just a strain. If you can get a PR on fronts it couldn't have been that bad :P

Close grip felt the best it has in a long time today. Had more in me for the top set but didn't want to push things. I bought a cheap 'heavy duty' hand from Meijer and have been doing some of the shoulder mobility stuff from Donnie Thompson's videos. Definitely noticed a difference while benching today.

Great session today. Going to start doing some grip work once or twice a week; probably the #1 thing I've neglected over the years, and is the reason why I've dropped my 3rd deadlift attempt at both my last two meets.

Deficits felt great, need to start doing these more often; great way to really hammer my lower back without having to use super heavy weight. This was a little more of a deficit than I usually use which made it that much more difficult. Going to start training belt-less as much as possible from now on, a-la Dan Green style.

Weight is down to 209 today, lowest I've been in quite a while so I'm definitely still making progress. Might actually need to start upping my cals just a little bit, I'd like to hover just below 210 for the next month or so.

Haha thanks man. Physique wise I'd say probably. He's still light years ahead of me in strength however. I just watched a video of him pulling 720 x 6 and it looked like a warm-up......
