Speed pulls continue to feel better. 475 wasn't as fast as it probably should be for a proper "speed" set, but definitely much faster bar speed than I used to pull that kind of weight with. The 405 x 15 set felt really good; every rep was full dead stop and as fast as possible, bar speed really didn't slow down much until the last 3 or 4 reps.

Not in a great mood today. Right bicep tendon came out of place... again... Worked up to a single with 450 and then got in as much volume as I could but everything felt like this. I have an appointment tomorrow morning so hopefully I'll be able to bench normally again next week.

Felt pretty good today, which is nice for a change. 700 felt better today off 4" blocks than it did two weeks ago off 6" blocks. Planning on hitting this off 2" blocks next heavy deadlift session and then off the floor in a month.

Thanks Brian, hopefully I can hit that from the floor in the next few weeks.

    Bunch of light shoulder/tricep work.

Still pretty sore from the bicep tendon. Felt fine on military press but no way I could bench anything.

Surprised myself today, lower back wasn't feeling the best so I wasn't expecting anything spectacular during warm-ups. 525 x 5 is a big PR without wraps, I think my best before was maybe 505.

Tried to keep things conservative today. No pain from the bicep tendon which is great as close grip usually aggravates it the most.

Nick, seems as though you just keep pushing through all this nagging stuff. Great effort.

Thanks Joey. Probably one of the most important things I've learned in my years is how to sense when an injury is really an "injury" and not just a little tweak, and how to back off to let things properly heal.

I actually just did kind of a half ass deload a couple weeks ago. I had a bicep tendon pop out of place, this is why my bench has been down. Just now starting to fully heal up.

I got the 700 about to my knees and just couldn't lock it out. Close, but not quite there yet. The 675 felt pretty good, confident I could have pulled that right from the floor. Lockout is still by far my weak point, I think I'm going to stick to 6" block pulls for a couple weeks in a row.

Typically I steal with stress pretty well, but my lab is closing down next week and I've decided not to stay with the company and relocate so thinking about being unemployed until I find something else is really starting to take a drain on me.

Strength is still down a little bit but the bicep tendon feels fully recovered. Last rep on a couple sets were long grinders and I didn't feel even the slightest twinge of pain. I'm probably going to stick with a slowly increasing the weight each week and focusing more on volume until I start prepping for a meet.

I felt ok warming up, 500 and 550 felt very easy and fast, but 600 just felt heavy as fuck. I really wanted 3 or 4 but got stuck on the 3rd rep just a little out of the hole. I didn't bail on it but my spotters had to help a little.

I think I'm going to do a short little month long cycle of higher volume training again. I've been hammering it pretty heavy lately and I don't really see the point since I'm not prepping for a meet.
