Never tried hip thrusts, although I checked them out on exrx a while ago and was intrigued. Belt and wrist wraps are about the only things allowed raw.

Everything looks awesome, but I don't like the sound of the armpit/chest issue that you have going on. Do you think you'd take an extra week or 2 of much lighter lifting and very minimal overload on that area?

I had a quad strain and didn't do anything for quads for 5-6 weeks. It sucked, but I didn't want to push it. I can say that it's still there, but I'm to the point that I'll train through some pain. Have you given yourself the time for it to heal up a bit?

The deads sound like they are coming along nicely. 500+ on the squats will happen, and a 400 bench, mand a 600 dead, WOW those will be some sick raw #'s.

Are those the #'s that you are shooting for?

Would you try to diet down a bit for the next meet or would you just cruise into it at whatever BW as long as your under 198?

Yeah if its not feeling better before my next bench session I'll just keep it light. I was an idiot last week, should have just repped out something like 225 and called it a day. Foam rolling honestly helps a ton but I've been super lazy; I'm hoping massaging it twice a day will make a difference.

I'm definitely shooting for 400/500/600. If all goes right I won't have to diet at all for my next meet, I'm hoping to slowly cruise up to 195 - 198. I'm taking the weight gain slowly, as long as my strength is increasing there's no reason to overeat.

I definitely think my form is improving on deads. Back felt great throughout the entire session, which is rare. 560 was so goddamn close, just that last couple inches before lockout. Pretty happy with 550 considering I wasn't wearing a belt. Finally found a leg curl machine in my gym so I'm gonna try and hammer my hams twice a week.

Thanks man. Missing a lift that close to lockout is the worst, I'd rather not even budge it off the ground.

Forgot to mention, I picked a meet out finally. APF/AAPF Michigan State meet on March 19th. Little less than 8 weeks away. I'll probably lift normally for the next month and start a peak routine 4 weeks out or so. The American Raw bench record for Juniors 198s is 369 lbs. This is pretty much my only goal for the meet. If I can get up to 390 or so touch-n-go I should be close. I'm gonna test my max with a pause within the next few weeks to see how close I am; if I'm off by a lot I may consider trying to diet down to 181. Record for that weight class is somewhere around 340.

No doubt you would have hit the 560 if you would have jumped right to that weight. Don't sweat it. Really surprised you didn't smoke that 220 on the military press. Heck, when you get that movement up you are going to be a 500 lb bencher.

I hate to rain on your parade but I think you'll appreciate to know this. The records have not been updated, my training partner hit a 402.3lb bench in AAPF open/junior 198 class in December.

I definitely feel like pressing has a big carryover to bench. I've been frustrated lately with my military though, it's really not moving even though all my other lifts are. Still doesn't feel like I've found the perfect grip width yet either.

Foam rolling the **** out of that sore spot seems to be paying off. I could still feel a little lingering soreness but definitely no pain like last week. Hopefully I'm back to 100% next week.

No-carbed it yesterday, bodyweight was 189 right after lifting today. Makes me real tempted to cut back down to 181.
