The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Lol! Yeah I knew that would ruffle some feathers. I dunno if it's because he's not in contest shape but honestly, he's so big it's not even human anymore. Jay has narrower shoulders compared to some of the other really big buys and I think it just looks odd once your arms get to be a certain size.

Felt like absolute shit today. Doesn't happen very often but stress from school is really getting to me. All I wanna do is sleep and nothing else.

Gonna pull sumo only for a couple months and work on my lockouts. My conventional deads always seem to go up when I don't work them directly.

    200 x 5

I really need to start doing heavy close grip bench again. Strength off my chest is unreal, triceps are holding me back big time. It's not even at lockout either, there's just a small area about half way up where I really lose a lotta strength. 1 finger from my spotter to get the bar moving again and I'm fine.

Thanks guys. I'm really starting to like sumo deads. My back enjoys the break from conventional and I can definitely tell I'm hammering my legs. Pulls today were all belt less as well. Might start doing some heavy front squats without a belt to really work on my core.

Ah yes sumo is the shit for the back! That's the main reason I switched, conv fried my lower back. I think front squats would serve your core well

I could have had 1 or 2 more on the wide grip set but I ran out of chalk a while ago and my hands kept sliding out further and further during the set. Excuses, I know. Normal bench felt great, close grip felt like shit. What's new.

I hear what you're saying about the close grips, but it's hard to see any weaknesses in your arsenal man.

Yeah I know 315 close-grip isn't bad by any means, but I'm not happy with it.

    Legs

    Front Squat (No Belt)
    135 x 10
    225 x 5
    275 x 2
    315 x 1
    345 x 1
    365 x 1
    ~Knee Wraps~
    385 x 1
    405 x 1
    ~Remove Wraps~
    335 x 3
    315 x 5

    Leg Curls

    Hammer Curls
    35 x 10
    45 x 5
    50 x 8
    50 x 8
    50 x 8

Finally got my 4 pps front squat. I won't be happy until I hit it without wraps but this is a start I guess. Still having a lot of trouble taking a breath, could barely get a gasp in with 405.

Huge milestone!! With hitting 315x5 after all that I'm sure you're very close. How did it feel with wraps?

Thanks guys. It was pretty slow. I think the more I practice with heavy weight the more my body will adjust and hopefully I'll learn to take a breath. If I could get some air in and tighten my core better it would be a lot smoother.
