Thanks man. I have a feeling as my hams and glutes get stronger I'll eventually switch over to using sumo in meets. My form is a lot better sumo but my top end strength is still better conventional.

Thanks Coke. Most of my friends graduated or are gone for the summer so it's tough to work on max effort stuff and form without my usual spotters. Focusing more on bodybuilding this summer.

Ridiculously strong bencher. One day I want to be able to just go in the gym and rep out 3 plates on any given day. That really sets you apart from others.

Thanks man. I can still remember the first time I hit 315, felt like god lmao. In high school I thought there was no way in hell I'd ever bench 300+.

Solid pulling. You seem to have taken a liking to sumo. Possibly a new comp stance? I know I asked this before but I forgot your answer how's your recovery with sumo pulling compared to conv?

Yeah I'm finally learning to use my hams and ass, really felt it in my glutes today. Recovery is a lot better since I'm not working my back nearly as much. I'll probably always use conventional stance in comps. My weak point has always been lockout so I'm hoping if I can bring my sumo up it'll carry-over.

It's been a couple weeks now since I've stopped taking in carbs pre-workout and I've definitely noticed a difference. As long as your glycogen stores are not completely depleted I think pre-workout carbs can be counter-productive if you're fat adapted.

I agree, the carbs right beforehand doesn't make too much of a difference.

    Steadily lifting huge dude.

I actually don't like to eat carbs right before I workout when I'm eating more fat than carbs. I prefer them an hour to two hours before I workout.

Thanks man. Don't be afraid to stop by more often lol. Gets lonely in here sometimes

    Legs and Bis

    Squat
    135 x 10
    225 x 5
    315 x 3
    365 x 2
    405 x 1
    425 x 3
    405 x 5

Front Squats (ATG, Pause at bottom)
    225 x 5
    255 x 5
    275 x 5

    Leg Curls

    Standing Calf Raise
    200 x 10
    240 x 5
    260 x 5
    280 x 5
    220 x 10

    Seated DB Curls
    30 x 10
    40 x 5
    50 x 6
    40 x 10
    40 x 10

So the plan was 425 x 5 on squats, strength was definitely there but the shit bars at my gym have no knarling for a good foot or two in the center, add in the fact that I was sweating like a horse with a sleeveless shirt and you get 425 slowly sliding down your back. Had no spotters so I had to stop as dropping the weight was inevitable. Can't wait to move and start training with a group again. I have no confidence squatting when I know there's no spotters.

I really liked the paused front squats, felt it in the tear drop a lot more. Let the weight completely deload off my quads at the bottom, basically rested my hams on my calves for a good second.

Spotters do become more of a necessity the more you advance in this game. Liking the squats and all regardless.

Slow lol. I officially graduate in 5 days, been kinda waiting for classes to end before I really kick things into gear. Also been doing some soul-searching as to whether pursuing a career with my degree is REALLY what I want to do for the rest of my life.
