Have you ever tried speed deads or squats? I remember for a little while you did speed bench what happened?

No never done either. I did speed bench for quite a while when I was at school and focusing solely on powerlifting, not really sure how much it helped though to be honest. Do you feel like you get much out of speed squats/deads? I've started hitting my legs twice a week, never really considered speed work though.

Yeah, trying to at least. I haven't lost much weight at all these past couple months but I'm still ever so slowly melting the fat off. Weight was about 189 Friday morning when I squatted; around 195 today, 1 day after my refeed.

Low box speed squats against bands and speed pulls have helped tremendously! I can tell by my speed day if I'm going to hit a pr or not the following ME day. Bench took me month's to figure out and finally see a carryover. Speed Deads and squats the results were apparent within 2-3 weeks.

Suhweet! Just stick with them for a couple months at least. Be sure to use a low box. You'll see good results. Do you have bands?

I've been meaning to get bands forever, just haven't gotten around to it. Guys I used to train with at school had some so I never really needed them.

    Back and Bis

Rack Pulls (Bar just below knees)
    225 x 10
    315 x 10
    405 x 5
    495 x 2
    545 x 1
    565 x 1
    585 x 1

    Cable Rows
    100 x 10
    150 x 10
    175 x 5
    200 x 10
    200 x 10

    Cable Curls
    6 x 10
    8 x 10
    10 x 10
    12 x 10
    13 x 8
    11 x 12

Was sore as hell today but I decided to pull heavy anyways. Not sure if 585 is a pr from that pin but it's gotta be close. I'm always weaker when pulling right below the knees than I am off the floor.

I saw a big carryover from speed squats and deads, moreso than from bench. You explode out of the hole so much faster and stronger. With deads, I'm not a grip and rip guy, I like to take tension off the bar then pull so the carryover wasn't as apparent, however, with the addition of bands and lots and lots and lots of deficit pulls, if I can get the bar to mid shin, it's going all the way.

I'm the same way when it comes to deads. I do really need to get some bands, I know doing banded deads in the past helped me quite a bit.

Not gonna bother writing up my workout today it was pretty shitty. Knew it was gonna be bad when 405 felt heavy as hell on my back. Weight was 189 so I was pretty depleted. I notice such a huge difference in strength once I start dropping down to 190 and below.

Been ramping up my diet and I've noticed the most changes in a long time this week. Prolly has something to do with my strength as well. Been doing cardio on my off days and dropped cals a little more for the week. Really want to be as lean as possible for Halloween. I know from past experience that good body + shirtless costume = extremely easy poon. Lol.
