Hopefully the racks will open up next time.... I hate when that happens.

I know man, so annoying. I don't want to be a dick and say anything, but I really hate it when some retard is in there for half an hour doing bullshit 1/4 squats with 225. If you're squatting 400+ to depth, you can use the damn thing all day for all I care.

    Rack Pulls, Just below Knee
    225 x 10
    315 x 5
    405 x 5
    495 x 5
    585 x 1
    655 x 1
    705 x 1

    Cable Rows
    150 x 10
    180 x 10
    210 x 10
    250 x 10

    Seated Alternating DB Curls
    35 x 10
    45 x 5
    55 x 8
    55 x 8
    45 x 10

Lat still bugging me when I pull. I don't think anything is torn, it just knots/tightens up really bad for some reason. Hurts the worst right after the set when I release tension, almost painful to breathe. The pain was at least bearable with a belt on, seemed to make a big difference.

I've had upper back pain for quite a while when pulling... Thought it was lat pain until I ended up tearing my teres major. Careful on those heavy rack pulls, man... it's a lot of stress on them lil' back muscles. Great strength, though.

Was at an outdoor music festival yesterday for about 10 hours. Had my shirt off most of the time, got completely fried, even after using about half a bottle of sunscreen. Squatting today was one of the most painful things I've experienced in quite a while. 455 x 4 was definitely not giving it all I had but it seriously hurt so fucking bad just putting my belt on that I gave up after the last set. My upper back and shoulders are still screaming at my as I type this.

Christ, your military presses are getting big. Do you feel flies help aid in chest strength? Been debating adding them in to the rotation.

    Thanks everybody.

    Bench, Comp Grip
    135 x 10
    135 x 10
    225 x 5
    275 x 2
    315 x 2

    385 x 3

    Wide Grip
    185 x 10
    225 x 5
    275 x 13
    245 x 13

    Pushdowns

Bench was painful today. Skipping chest next week, prolly keep things light for the next week or two after. I dunno if it's scar tissue or a knot, or something else, but it's really pissing me off. I can't even tell if it's my pec or my delt, it's right where the two tie in together. Nothing hurts when I do shoulder movements. Wide grip feels a lot better than close grip, and flyes hurt by far the worst. I can hit 385 like I did today on neutral grip bench, but anything over 40 pounds on flyes hurts like a bitch.

I don't want to be annoying, man, but I did tell you that if you kept increasing poundages consistently while on cycle you were going to start getting minor muscle/tendon/ligament strains. Can't just keep going heavier and heavier...

    +1

this especially applies to tendons and ligaments. They don't grow/strengthen at the same rate skeletal muscle does..

furthermore, unless you plan to step on stage, why are you doing flyes? They don't carry over to anything and you can get the same growth out of some tempo benching or even some high rep stuff after your heavy stuff.

My best growth came from working up to something heavy for 1-3 reps, then dropping down to 2-3 sets of 5-10 on the major lifts. Maybe it's just the PLer in me, but if it doesn't carry over to your goals (which APPEAR to be powerlifting), what's the point of doing it?

on a side note, ice + rest + lacrosse ball massages. I don't know how long your cycle is, but what if you did some type of block training? hypertrophy for 4 weeks, strength for 4 weeks, hyp, str, etc.. That will give your tendons/ligaments time to heal and grow stronger while maintaining strength in the muscle and getting some growth as well.

    Good luck brother, heal up.

I know.. I haven't been increasing much really. This is the heaviest I've gone since my meet in March.
