The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

I know this is obvious, but to kind of echo what you posted above, I do notice a huge difference in my form with a high-bar vs. low bar stance. High bar my back is pretty much vertical, like the picture on the left at the bottom of your post. This sounds stupid but I have very big traps and trying to get somewhere in-between a high-bar and a low bar is really awkward, at least for me.

    sick OHP..

and your traps don't look oversized, lol.. put the bar low, like on your rear delts, then sink down about an inch to two inches and put it there. That's how I unrack a back squat. Something about midway up on my traps, feels more solid than a low bar, and doesn't me too forward like a high bar. Happy medium.

You need to max front squat. I hit 475 today. Where you at pimpin?

Man I haven't done heavy front squats in months. You might have just convinced me to test my max this week. 475 is fucking beast though, so close to the illusive 500.

    135 x 12
    225 x 5
    275 x 3
    315 x 2
    375 x 1
    415 x 2
    ~Wide Grip~
    355 x 8
    335 x 8

    Pushdowns
    160 x 10
    200 x 10

    280 x 8
    260 x 8

    Reverse Grip Pushdown (Straight Bar)
    180 x 9
    180 x 9

415 felt pretty good. Pec/Shoulder/Armpit area is still bothering me a little but it seems to be getting better as time goes on.

    Thanks Terry.

    Squats
    135 x 10
    225 x 5
    315 x 5
    405 x 2
    475 x 1
    510 x 3
    475 x 5

    Leg Curls
    60 x 10
    100 x 5
    130 x 10
    120 x 10

    Seated DB Curls
    40 x 10
    55 x 5
    60 x 6
    60 x 6
    60 x 6
    50 x 10

Huge improvement with squats this week. Form still needs some work but I felt so much stronger out of the hole. I could have probably gotten 4 with 510 but I don't want to push it too hard since I'm squatting twice a week now.

Really focused on bar placement, wasn't quite as low as usual. Stance was a little wider too.

First time in months incline bench has actually felt pretty good. Just a little tightness in my right pec but no pain. Pretty sure 300 x 8 is a PR as well.

Lower back is absolutely fried from pulling yesterday so squatting was real fun this morning. Still sticking with squatting twice a week, seems to be working so far.

    Hopefully that trend continues.

    Front Squats
    135 x 10
    225 x 5
    315 x 3
    375 x 1
    ~Wraps~
    415 x 1
    440 x 1
    460 x 1
    470 x miss
    ~Remove Wraps~
    355 x 6

    Leg Curls
    80 x 10
    100 x 5
    150 x 7
    120 x 12

    Cable Curls
    120 x 10
    160 x 4
    200 x 10
    200 x 10
    180 x 10

I should have had the 470 front squat. Started to get really light headed out of the hole and dumped it without even trying.
