hi, iv seen good gains i vbeen working out about 4 n a half months now iv upped my weight frm 154 to 185, which is good but recently i was told that squating using a smith machine isnt a good idea? i mean i know it has its downs but theres no powercage in the gym i go to! so i need to know what to do, i free bench, free deadlift and pretty much everything else its just squats! any suggestions or just keep doing them on the smith?

Find a new gym.

Or do what others without a rack have to do. Hack, zercher, front, or any other squat that you can do. Lunges, SLDLs and all the other quality leg exercises will help until you find a gym.
