    Competing in 100% RAW federation

Anyone here ever compete in the 100% RAW Federation?
Or is anyone thinking about competing in it?

If so, how did you like their event?
    Which event did/will you do?

Also, if anyone has done a RAW and a equiped competitions... what do you use for your opening weights? Any different % then your equipment competitions?

I've thought about competing in it. I probably will if there is a meet near me sometime in the next year. For opening weights, a good rule fo thumb is to do something you can do for 3 reps as your opener, then go up from there based on feel.

They had a couple of Illinois meets this year.. in Palatine and Elgin..
here are the results for that one in Elgin (http://www.rawpowerlifting.com/resul...et_results.pdf)
and I know they are looking for more meets in the Ohio area...

Yep. I had thought about going to that one in Elgin, but it was a bit too close to my last meet (which was a tad dissapointing for me). I'd really like to try one next year, though, if possible.

I'll be there Kev.. I hope to meet up with you.. I think you should smoke your weight & age group..

I've convinced my 43 yr old door neighbor to come.. he did a lot of powerlifting in the early 80s.. to compete at 148 or 160.. and I've been with him doing 405 sq & DL in the gym.. but only a 240 BP b/c of his screwed up elbow.

So you little guys are going to smoke me.. oh well, I'm a newbie..

Now we just have to convince Drew to come up..
