The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

BEAST: answer to your spoiler question (I think)

No. He was powerless at the time because the Haitian man prevents people from using their powers somehow AND can erase memories, they've said he can hollow people out...still not 100% about this, but as soon as the haitian was gone Sylar was able to use his powers again.

And Hiro isn't really going to fight a dinosaur. Thankfully. That would be a little too campy, I think.

Yeah, my bet is that he goes to a musuem and takes the sword, and happens to pose in front of a T-Rex model for a split second in the exact form of the picture

    Possible answer.

When he was asked about fixing watches and why he does it he replied with something along the lines of; "I can see when things are broken, and I fix them..." I think he figured out how to "fix" not being able to use his power.

This was actually a great literary nod to Ray Bradbury. Bradbury has a story about time travel ("A sound of Thunder) where people go back in time on dino safaris and kill dinosaurs just before they're going to die. They have to keep on a specific path so as to not harm anything and not affect the future...one of the time tourists accidentally falls off the path and steps on a butterfly and alters the future. Hiro also says something like "if I step on a butterfly I change everything" when he sees that picture. It's emphasizing the literary allusion to the bradbury short story.

How do you guys think Sylar "absorbs" the powers of the people he kills? Bennet said something about how all the DNA changes that he's made to himself is slowly killing him or somethin, so I'm thinkin that with "I can see how things work power," he looks at the brains of the dead guys and figures out how to alter his DNA, or at least "learn" how to perform the different power.

Good question... too bad we have to wait until next year until it gets answered.

Maybe he just eats their brains!

Great show - my buddy got me hooked after I watched episode 4 with him.......

Larter's story is starting to bore me......

The scene when the cop was attempting to read Peter's mind was cool.....very well done.....

Does anyone remember the actor playing Sylar being on 24? He was a member of CTU.........

Davidelmo, which site to you watch it online? Is it the NBC site?

It's too bad that Eden (the short haired girl) got killed off. She was sexy.

I don't see many women on tv that catch my eye (look good, but all similar) but something about Eden did. So :withstupi

Actually, something I loved about Heroes was that it was jam-freaking PACKED with similar allusions (well, I won't call them "literary", as that's a bit of a stretch).

Examples off the top of my head:
    - "A Sound of Thunder," as ectx pointed out.
    - Hiro deadpanning "GREAT SCOT!" after telephoning Japan and talking to his future self (a clear Doc Brown reference from "Back to the Future")
    - Countless bones thrown out to Star Trek fans

Back in the States to get hayooooge!

    Health goals
    - Weigh a healthy and active 170-180, healthy mind and body
    - Dunk a basketball (hey a man can have big dreams huh)
    - Swim 2-3x/week and become a better swimmer

There's gonna be a huge star trek reference soon. Hiro's father is played by one of the actors from Star Trek.

No, but the Haitian is already going against Bennett's orders by not erasing the cheerleader's memories. So when he was doing that he was away from guarding Sylar. Not a mistake on Bennett's part.

BTW: DLed and watched all episodes this weekend. Great stuff. Even my gf likes it, and she's extremely critical about anything seen on TV.

Will someone revive this thread when (if?) new episodes have aired? Can't exactly receive NBC over here.
