The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Like all the other powers on the show I attribute that to neccessity by the plot rather than anything else. How fast can Nathan fly? As fast as the plot needs. How strong is Jessica? As strong as the plot needs. How fast does Claire heal? As fast as... you get it.

I don't buy it. Peter tripped into having his powers because he woke up flying after a dream about his brother. Surely he would have ended up teleporting across town thinking about his mom at some point.

I think she's the one he got the dreaming power from.

I think Mohinder has the dreaming power. Remember the whole deal with his sister?

Has anyone noticed that the show gets stupid at certain points? I mean some of the CGI is laughable and for instance last episode when Sylar sees the data disk is broken or whatever he just starts hitting things with a stick. One of the worst-acted moments I've ever seen. Or how did Mohinder get Peter's body across the city?

I don't even know why I keep watching this TV show, it treats its viewers like we're idiots. If I hadn't watched every episode so far I'd not be watching it now.

Mohinder loaded Pete up in his cab (presumably he still has his job with the taxi company, despite his country traveling ways). He was trying to get the body away from Sylar before Sylar could get a hold of his brain.

Originally the script called for Sylar to be knocked out the window by a desperate blind side tackle from Mohinder, but someone over-rode the decision to save on effects budget (falling people are more expensive than you might think), so he got clocked with a blackboard instead.

And of course the show gets stupid at some points. It's very foundation is ludicrous (it's a superhero show). Comic books are renowned for plot holes big enough to drive an M1 tank through.

Plus, it's TV. Take a look at the internal consistancy of any OTHER hit show.

Last nights episode was great. I thought it was going to be a "what if" episode that didn't play into the season, but boy was I wrong. Parkman really took a turn for the worse.

Yeah everyone in general was badass....even future Hiro with that sword. Parkman took a turn for the worse but he's better than the previous whiny, uncertain man taking **** from everyone.

Props to Mohinder for disobeying Presidential orders and sticking to his own ideals in the end. I think he's the unsung Hero in the show last night.

Alright, this is the best TV series I've ever seen. I LOVED the time-traveling episodes in X-Men, and this completely blows that out of the water. I love the intricacy of the plot... you can see why each character had to make the decisions they did.

    1) Parkman walked down the dark side because his son (who has a hero superpower, presumably) was taken from him.
    2) Peter ran into hiding because (for whatever reason) he was the bomb.
    3) Mohinder thought he was doing the right thing by helping research, though he didn't realize Sylar was playing him.
    4) Future Hiro was overcome with grief and tried to go about saving the world on his own to atone for his friend's death.

Geez, the writers of this show are doing a PHENOMENAL job. Anyone else catch the Matrix-esque attire that Peter was wearing as he walked through the holding facility and laid a beatdown on the guards? I thought that was a very clever nod to the Matrix series.

Damn, I can't WAIT till next week.

P.S. That fight scene with Sylar and Peter Petrelli was pretty awesome. I love the part where Mohinder is holding the door shut and the explosions are wracking the outside. It's so interesting how Hiro and Ando are cast into this dystopian world where everything is falling apart and then that scene is juxtaposed with a peaceful New York morning. The bleak-future-as-background is a really overdone cinematographic element, but I think the writers did a VERY good job of explaining how it got that way.

I missed the first fifteen minutes, but did it explain the deal with Nikki/Jessica and why she was pissed about the whole past Hiro and Ando thing.

I think Hiro and Peter were working together. Didn't Parkman say something about Hiro being sought after? Maybe Hiro played a part in the bomb incident, making him feel that much more guilty?

I think she's generally pissed at the world, as they alluded to later in the episode - she lost her husband AND her son in the explosion (or in the ensuing chaos afterwards where Sylar went around stealing brains?). Now, she just wants to be left alone and live her life without thinking about the past.

Hiro was being sought after in the FUTURE because he's been labelled as a "terrorist" for trying to break out "special people" from holding facilities, etc. I think he only feels guilty because he messed up on his "hero quest" to stop the bomb from going off, so he's been obsessing for the past five years about how to stop it.

Couldn't agree more. I think the moment that was the most badass was Sylar revealing he had been playing the part of the President for the past 5 years, just to find out where Clare was. I was like omggggggg

When I was watching the episode, it reminded me a little too much of the X-Men animated series. It was almost the exact same plot. I was also annoyed at what seemed to be allusions to the current state of the U.S. I mean honestly, they called the mutant clean-up group "Homeland Security", there was a big explosion that left a lot of people being labeled terrorists... I couldn't help but get the clue that the creator of the show obviously isn't a fan of the whole Iraq thing.

One last thought - I wonder what the empty thought bubble says in the comic when Hiro stabs Sylar. So far it hasn't been filled in, but I'm open for guesses...

So far, I think Sylar will come out with a... "lol pwned!"

Peter must have teleported into Neo's closet at some point.

I knew there was going to be a big bodycount, ala Days of Future Past.

It was nice to see the hot Jewish chick again even though she got capped in the dome a few scenes later.

Who would have thought that Parkman would become such a heartless bastard. Goes to show you, that you can only push a man so far.

How did Haitian dude end up being a flunky again?

Poor Mohinder just can't escape being Sylar's bitch.

I have to admit, I did not see that surprise reveal.

Claire looked hawt in that teeny weeny mini skirt. Dark hair was nice too. I was kind of disappointed that she ended up becoming Texas trash. Sheesh, getting married at 20-21 years old to some good ol boy loser. Can't get anymore texan than that!

Why would Bennet give up Claire's location? Did he figure it was so he could go on living and helping others by sacrificing her? You'd think he would have heard the "save the cheerleader, save the world" thing from Hiro once or twice. Maybe he figured it couldn't get any worse.

Also, Peter obviously came into contact with Claire's mom sometime in the past two years (ala him saying "Fire!" instead of the stupid "Flame On!" BS from F4). There is an ice man/woman coming (ala Sylar's ice hands during their fight).

I thought Future Hiro getting shot was BRILLIANT writing. Gives young Hiro the added motivation to change the past so he won't even end up there. Not to mention Ando. I love Ando.

I wonder what power the new little girl getting introduced next week has.

So far, there hasn't been an annoying character. I love this show.

I was under the impression that Peter's "flame" power was from the radioactive dude...remember in this future (with events how they are currently) Peter is the bomb, NOT Sylar

but this future sylar had already came inconntact with Claire once at the homecomming thus taking her power, probably kiling her, but not known to sylar she regenerated, remember sylar had her regeneratin powers when Hiro stabbed her.
it seems this time sylar just wanted to kill her and make sure she was dead.
