    Good TV series on DVD?

Well, here's the thing - I don't watch TV, don't even have it turned on. My entire entertainment center focuses around my computer and ps2, no television feed.

So, I miss the good stuff. I was recently recommended the series Lost. My fiance and I watched every episode (including the dl'd ones from season 3 on itunes). Now, I'm wondering what other TV series I may find to be comparably enjoyable down at the video store.

The problem is, since I don't watch TV or listen to the radio, I can't even really name a series, let alone have a clue about which are decent and which are not.

The series '24' came up, and sounded good. Definitely want to find others though, as I loved Lost, and doubt that's the best of them all (although I guess I wouldn't be hugely surprised, I recall TV sucking pretty bad when I stopped watching it forever ago)

wow. damn quick, and many recommendations. you guys rule, thanks. We've basically watched anything decent at the video store (sounds like a stretch, but really isn't), and when we found lost it was great because we didn't just find something cool to watch, we found something that was like over 20 movies' worth of time. Kind of like finding 20 great new movies...

    The Shield

I'm currently watching lost season 1 on DVD and it can't even compare to these two.

I just checked out the basics on shield, that seems to be promising.

I got the first episode of 24, and didn't even finish the dvd. Couldn't hold a candle to lost, which i'm starting to fear was kind of the cream of the crop, while i had been hoping that i'd be able to find many other comparable series lol.

    Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
You can get "the Chosen Collection" on DVD. Whole series, 40 discs.

Clever writing, neat SFX, easily one of the most intelligent TV dramas of the last decade.

24 is good. The cliffhangers at the end of every single episode really draw you into the show. I can't wait until season 6 starts

Dexter. This one isn't on DVD just yet, it's in its first season and has 6 episodes out. You could find the episodes on a bit torrent site or whatever. It's about a forensic analyst who kills serial killers. It may sound a bit lame, but it's really well done and the guy is twisted. I'm addicted to this show and I never watch TV.

True, but it really was a fantastic series, although I had no clue it even existed when it was actually on.
