The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Konstantin Konstatinov deadlift video

He deadlifts about 946 pounds in the third attempt, his technique is very particular.

Why is his belt so high?
Face it: biceps are the muscle that classifies you as a muscle man.

Striding across the fields, carrying a vorpal blade, cometh Clawhammer! And he gives a bloodthirsty bellow:

"As sure as predators devour prey, I shall paint the town a sanguine shade of doom!!!"

It is acceptable to round your upper back as long as the lower back retains it's tightness. A lot of the heavier pullers do this. It's not illegal or dangerous if you know how to do it correctly.

A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

You're right, though most aren't actually rounding their upper back as much as it looks like. Most of the big deadlifters are just rolling their shoulders forward and it looks more rounded.

Well a quick search for "Konstantin" gives nothing but my own post and 3 logs.

I just made a search for "Konstantinovs" and it gives 1 different result. It's hard to tell what the real spelling of his name is.
