    Rear lunges?

    I recently added DB lunges to my leg workout, dropping leg extensions. I have to say that lunges are PURE EVIL, it feels like your lower half is being racked. I'm thinking of also adding rear lunges to complement regular lunges, kind of like evil twins lol.
    So do rear lunges work the legs any differently to regular lunges, or is it just a variation?
    Thanks.

    PS, do you guys favour long or short lunges to emphasize glutes or quads?

    Cheers, I think I'll add them anyway just for variety as I do two leg workouts a week, so one day I'll do regular, second day I'll do rear.
