I can no loger do DB squats because the weight has gone up so much that I can't hold the DBs by my sides for long enough. And I don't have a squat rack so I can't do conventional squats.
What do you think of these two excercises?
This second excercise, DB split squat looks more like a lunge than a squat.
Step ups onto a platform/bench.

You are going to need a rack for front squats.. but lunges would be a good alternative.

Goal Weight: 210
Starting weight: 150 (10/1/04)
I already do lunges, and was told on another forum that lunges are good but you will not see much gains if you do lunges without some sort of squat.
I may opt for the step-up squat.
But what about the split squat, is it really a squat or just a stationary lunge?
