thanks guys. so this is my plan. on wednesday or thursday i'm going to do a very light squat bench and dead workout. Then max on all 3 lifts on saturday (going to simulate a meet, 3 lifts, etc..) then start the new routine on the monday.
The meet i'll be training for is on april 28th. I will go to the one on the 14th of april just to watch and see how its run so i know what to expect aswell.
Good luck with that meet in the not distant but near future.
249lbs cutting to 220lbs
good luck man!!
2000 or bust
Nice workouts man! Below parallel squats kick ass man.
I seen this guy today squatting 205 but not getting anywhere even CLOSE to parallel and I was just thinking "If he only knew what he was missing".
Good luck with that meet bro, kill it!
mcvein - at the last highschool powerlifting meet (last year) the first place lifts in my weight class was bench: 105kg(231lbs) squat: 115kg(253lbs) and the deadlift was 185kg (407lbs)
depending on what numbers i hit on monday, hopefully my lifts will be high enough (by end of april) so i can get on the podium which would be awesome.
shark - yeah its not too far away but its not too soon either. the only other meet is on the 14th (between now and march) so i wanna have a chance to observe first.
stump - thanks man
IRL - yeah below parallel is kicking my ass hahahha. i see guys at my school doing the same thing but with 135. curl jockies hahahah. thanks for the props

WOOOOOO!!!! i just weighed myself (first time in about 2 weeks) and i came in at 161lbs! my previous high weight was 158. slowly bulking to 165 seems to have done good for me. 160 is a big milestone for me (considering i was around 135lbs just a year and a half ago benching 95lbs.). 165 by april 17th, no problem . hopefully the creatine doesnt add too much water weight because i want to stay in the 165 weight class. im excited!
So this was my week of rest. I was overtrained before so I felt the need to take a break. During that break I hit 161 on the scale, got sick with the flu and bought a powerlifting belt. I kept it light today as to get my muscles "back" into ze groove again. I got a small tub of creatine to start with but I had a few questions.
If I take creatine at say 9:00am on monday and tuesday, 9:00pm on wednesday (lets say I forgot to take it in the morning), would I have to take it at 9am or pm on thursday?
Also, is it alright for me to take it today even though I was drinking last night. (Is it alright to drink alcohol while supplementing creatine?)
Super, you gained 25lbs within a years time - ...nice squats, benching and deads man.
Chest + bi's
Incline BB Bench
Weighted Decline Crunches
Weighted Flat Crunches
My first REAL workout since the rest week. Everything felt a little heavier than usual but I think thats because it was the first one back. I did about a 1 second pause while benching. All the ab work was done pretty much supersetted... mabye about 10 seconds between sets for water.
Ive drank about 5-6 bottles of water today so far (~2800mL) to keep my muslces hydrated cuz of the creatine. Next week i'm going to max on the big 3 to see where my numbers are so I can compare at the end of this routine. Also so I have an idea of where i'm at for the meet.
strong bench man
2000 or bust
Good luck with the creatine, you'll gain 5 easy pounds of water weight with that. Keep us posted with how it goes as I may try it again this summer.
Height: 6' Weight: 160 lbs
Goals: Maintain Strength
hey man, thought I'd stop by your journal.. looking good in here so far, I just recently got past the 160 mark as well for the first time. you should definitely expect at least 5 lbs from the creatine, and I don't think it really matters what time of day you take it. Some days I take it sometime during the middle of the day and other days I just take it at night.
Chicken, Cows, Eggs, and Milk: Eating Big, Lifting Heavy
5/07 Weight: 168 lbs, 9% BF using calipers
Goal: Start lifting again in January and hopefully get rid of this tendinitis.

Thanks for stopping by guys.
steve - I expect to gain at least 5 pounds within the first 2 weeks. I'll keep updating as often as I can. Hopefully I dont go too far over 165.
offhegoes - Thanks for the input. I'm going to try and down it every morning with breakfast. I cant wait to see what gains I make with the new lifting program.
Front Squats ATF
DB Shoulder press
315, 295, 225, 185, 135, 225... 5 reps at each weight to close it out.
Awesome workout today. Squats felt really good (except for the bar felt like it was slipping off my back). My first time doing front squats and man, I gotta say, they freakin DESTROYED my legs. I was doing them ATF but im not sure if thats the correct way to do front squats. I have a hockey game later and i'm gonna look like a lazy SOB out there. I was amazed at my grip strength today. No grip problems with 365 at all.
Why so little leg work? And light leg work? What happened? Your PR is much higher than that and you didn't do a lot of sets.
249lbs cutting to 220lbs
this new powerlifting workout i'm trying doesnt call for alot of leg work. Plus, after front squats I could barely walk, litterally. Another reason is because this was my first real leg workout back so their still a little rusty hahah.
You're one hardcore dude to put in that session before playing hockey…grip strength is better, that's super.
