The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    10.01.2003 - Day 10 [3]

     Prolegomenon
    Too...much...coffee...bad...

Well, this morning I opted to do the typical ab pinch and a start with my hand fully open and pinch as much as I could ab pinch to see the highest I could possibly be. The usual end was 10.5mm, the upper end was 14mm. I'll take it. I took some pictures, but the photographic differences are marginal at this level. In person the difference is much greater. The side shot where I pinch, shows a somewhat significant change, but it also shows that I have a few weeks to go. My chest pinch is down 1mm to 5.5 and thigh is down a few to 14.5mm. My legs hold a ton of fat, but according to an article I read yesterday, men lean from the inside out, so I guess that'll come next. All in all, the 3-site measurement puts me between 8.5 and 9.6%, so I'd say I'm slightly above 10% at the moment. If I my body doesn't start fighting back, 4 more weeks to go.

One more thing I've noticed from the pictures is that I'm more depleted this week than last, which is likely a bonus. This diet is really keeping me motivated due to the short cycles within the week. The only things I despise are the depletion workouts.

              5oz chicken, 1oz oatmeal 100mg r-ala, daily one cap, b-100

              8oz cochee, 3oz strawberries, 4g fish oil, 100mg r-ala, 50mg zinc
60g driver, 1.5g coral calcium, melatonin, 50mg zinc, 5g glutamine

          beverages
water, coffee, diet cherry 7up, diet a&w cream soda of hAet.

          totals

     Toils
    Cardio.

       treadmill
        45 minutes 3.5 @ 5.0

Yohimburn on all the stubborn parts. I have thiomucase to remove the water added by the yohimburn and I'll likely put some on before bed tonight and perhaps tomorrow to see if there is a difference. My chest still retains water, even with the major fat loss I've seen in the area recently. Further proof that God hates me.

As I was walking and walking and walking and not going anywhere, I had a little time to read and watch the events in the tiny, tiny gym. I noticed the one guy who I consider to be built way better than me struggle doing dips at bodyweight, eventhough I'd say he isn't much heavier than me. That bothers me because I feel I should be more aesthetic for the weight I lift. As I was fixing my hair before leaving, the guy came in and did a strange thing. He stopped at his locker, did 10 pushups as fast as he could, then dropped his shorts, all viewable by the mirror I was standing in. Luckily, he was facing away...

Grats on the pinches G! I can already say that I agree with you about the depletion workouts. I no likey. Hopefully I'll see some off the progress you've been seeing so far.

Are you saying that if one does 10 pushups real quick then drops his shorts he would improve his build? I'll stick with UD2 for now thanks.

Gal did you just start using the Yohimburn? How do you feel about it so far? And yes god does hate you. During my nightly "conversations with god" as I call them (this is where he tells me to kill people) he said hey man I really hate Galileo! I was like wow god that's weird. And I said would you like for me to kill him too? He said no I enjoy the suffering he gets from the lower chest fat I gave him, and that was that.

    10.02.2003 - Day 11 [4]

     Prolegomenon
    Slightly leaner this morning.

Due to the lack of calories and carbs, I'm feeling abnormally apathetic and unaccomplished today. I know it's just my brain playing games, but it makes it difficult to put much effort into things. I'm also quite pissy.

I opted to get up extra early and get ready at work after some cardio. I was shocked at the raised energy levels that I had so early in the morning. Now, however, I do not feel like working out this afternoon whatsoever. But I will!

     Prandial Promulgation
Yesterday I did a little food swapping in the evening since I was hungry, but my macros were just fine. A grilled chicken breast really appealed to me over cottage cheese, so I went for it.

I have a luncheon today, but I know I can get a chicken salad and have them hold everything but the lettuce and chicken.

          supplements
ec stack, r-ala, glutamine, daily one cap, b-100, e complex, c-1000, glucosamine, coral calcium, melatonin, zinc, yohimburn

              6oz turkey, 1oz oatmeal, 100mg r-ala, 25mg ephedrine, 200mg caffeine, 500mg coral calcium, 400iu vitamin e
small chicken salad, no cheese, very little ranch dressing. 100mg r-ala, daily one cap, b-100
              15g whey, 30g carbs, 100mg r-ala, 200mg caffeine, 25mg ephedra, glucosamine, 1g vitamin c
              50g whey, 150g dextrose, 10g sucrose, 10g creatine 100mg r-ala, 50mg zinc
whole wheat pita pizzas with fat-free mozarella, 5g creatine
bagels and fat-free cream cheese, melatonin, 50mg zinc

          beverages
water, coffee, diet cherry 7up, diet a&w cream soda of hAet and rootbeer of hAet.

          totals
             3000 kcal 30g fat 300g carbs [20g fiber] 169g protein

     Toils

    Morning
       treadmill
        30 minutes 3.5 @ 5.0 -> 10.0 -> 12.5 -> 10.0 -> 5.0

Yohimbizzle. If you took a picture of me while I was on the treadmill today and last week, you'd notice a 1 pixel difference in my waist. That is all.

    Afternoon
       45 leg press
        5p+15psx12, x12
       cybex leg curl
        60x12, x12
       cybex leg extension
        120x12, x12
cybex calf-raise on lying leg press
        160x12, 160x12
       lat pulldown
        80x12, 100x12
       standing cable flye
        50x12, 50x12
       cybex neutral row
        100x12, 80x12
       cybex chest press
        100x12, x12
       lateral raise
        20x10, 10x10

A few of my worksets were up this week. More reps or higher weights. I felt ****ty after the row/press supersets, so I stopped because I hit the rest of my body quite well. My arms didn't really need it (or so I've convinced myself).

Yes, I hoped to get as close to the m/t workouts as possible so I wouldn't feel ****ty like last week. I took too short of rests, finishing all 18 sets in 45 minutes. The problem is, I did the superset thing a few times causing me a little discomfort in the end. I feel great now, as I sip on my dextrosey goodness, but during the workout I wasn't exactly happy.

Dude 1 pixel at a time that's how it goes! Sounds like you're getting this thing down (once you've got it mastered AND the 6 pack you'll be able to talk me right into it)! Nice work anyway!
