A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

They just installed mirrors in front of the squat rack at my gym. Turns out I was about an inch away from parallel.... d'oh! Each increment is about 3 inches so now I'm squatting like a stud at 2 inches below. Soon I'll be the male equivalent of J-Lo. Boo-ya.

I'll be participating in this but won't post anything for a few weeks.

    Great idea!

My legs feel tired today but tomorrow will be sore I bet, the 2 day after thing. Once I got to 36 my right leg below the knee was trembeling a little more and more each rep for lack of a better description. I was panting like a fat dog on a hot day after.

Stumprrp-I have a feeling your 30 was for grins anyway so I gotta kick it in now to keep up with ya!

    Official - 20 reps.

20 reps for 3 sets a couple of months ago (took long breaks to avoid puking ).

I'll make an attempt this February, with a handy puke basket next to the rack, and my buddy to catch me when I fall over after I rack the weight.

Bah... That's no excuse! I thought you said you were going to do a cycle anyway? Just use something on the cut!

Just kidding. I'll be cutting a tiny bit for nationals but hopefully I won't lose any strength. I'm just gonna maintain pretty much until then.

I wanted to go through a few natural cuts and bulks before even thinking of cycling.

Plus, I'm pretty young. 20 is probably the earliest I'd ever consider using. I dont think I could handle that stuff now. Too young.
