    Moving out

Anybody live around McHenry, Illinois and want a roommate for an appartment? Haha. It's actually not funny though. I can't live here at my dads house anymore, and i basically don't have a mom to go to. I'm 18 and i don't have much money. I'm not ready and planned for this because it came out of nowhere. I've had a whole two days to figure out what i'm doing.

I start full time college (which i'm on a payment plan, and paying for myself) in January. I really don't know what i'm going to do, except for sleep at a friend's house the next few nights. I'm looking around at apartments, but there's just no way in hell i could afford one by myself if i can't work fulltime. And i can't work fulltime if i'm going to school fulltime. The only way i can see this idea really happening is if i can find a roommate. I could do it with a part time job (still working a good ammount of hours.. while going to school) then. I haven't been able to find a friend interested though. I just don't know. This sucks. Let me know if you live by me and want to live in an apartment.

Sorry for the lame post =/.

Sure you can. Lots of people do it. It sucks, but you can make it work.

Is dorm life an option for you?

Dorms are ussualy alot more money then an apartment.

I pay 9 grand a school year for a single room and a meal plan.

Next year I'm moving off campus to live in an apartment with 2 roommates and It comes out a couple grand cheaper plus you get your own place.

There is no dorm life. I'm going to MCC (McHenry County College). It's community college.

I'm going into my school tomorrow morning and talking to financial aid.

Do you have a friend with a big house and cool parents? You could always offer them a couple hundred a month for a room. I have a friend who did this for almost half a year and it worked out quite nicely.

True, but you can usually work dorm expenses into student loans.

I really don't. A lot of my closest friends went away to college. And honestly the handful of closest friends i can think of now don't have any decent sized house. All of my friends are great though and have let me known that i can stay there for a few nights if need be.

The plan now is to go into my school tomorrow and talk to financial aid. I'll be able to sleep between my aunt and uncles house and friends houses for a little while here. I'm hoping the financial aid plan works out.

Good luck, that's too bad about what happened.
If all else fails, you could always try couchsurfing...

Does an apartment near campus while you're a student not work into a student loan?

Alternatively, you could find a hotel that rents by the hour and not sleep very much.

Sharing an apartment would be no less than 350$ per person and thats usually 1 room, 2 room could be 375-400$. rent.com or apartment is what I look at.
